Claims (23)
- 第1のウェブ取扱いアセンブリと、第2のウェブ取扱いアセンブリと、前記第1のウェブ取扱いアセンブリと前記第2のウェブ取扱いアセンブリとの間のギャップとを有するウェブ取扱い装置と、
前記第1のウェブ取扱いアセンブリに沿った第1の部分と、前記ギャップにおける第2の部分であって半径を有する円弧セグメントを含む第2の部分と、前記第2のウェブ取扱いアセンブリに沿った第3の部分とを有するウェブ経路を通過するウェブと、
前記円弧セグメントの半径を制御する手段とを具備する、
ウェブを屈曲させるシステム。 - 前記第1のウェブ取扱いアセンブリは第1のロールアセンブリであり、前記第2のウェブ取扱いアセンブリは第2のロールアセンブリである、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1のウェブ取扱いアセンブリは第1のベルトアセンブリであり、前記第2のウェブ取扱いアセンブリは第2のベルトアセンブリである、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記半径を制御する手段は、
前記ギャップにおいて前記ウェブの位置を感知するセンサを有し、該センサは、前記第1のウェブ取扱いアセンブリと前記第2のウェブ取扱いアセンブリとの相対速度を制御するコントローラに結合されている、請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記円弧セグメントにより囲まれた回転部材をさらに有する、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記ウェブを前記ウェブ経路の前記第1の部分および前記第2の部分に対して保持する手段をさらに有する、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記保持手段は、機械的係合手段と、空気圧手段と、静電ピンニング手段と、接着手段と、真空手段とからなる群から選択される、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記機械的係合手段は、フック・アンド・ループアセンブリである、請求項7に記載のシステム。
- 前記半径を制御する手段は、コントローラに結合したセンサを有し、該センサは、信号を前記コントローラに送り、前記信号は、前記ギャップにおける前記ウェブの位置のエラーに比例している、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 一対の共回転部材であって該一対の共回転部材の間にギャップを備えた一対の共回転部材と、
ウェブが前記共回転部材間の前記ギャップにあるとき前記ウェブに半径を形成する手段とを具備する、
制御された歪みを不定長さのウェブに付与するシステム。 - 前記一対の共回転部材はローラアセンブリである、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- 前記一対の共回転部材はベルトアセンブリである、請求項10に記載のシステム。
- 前記半径を形成する手段は、
前記共回転部材の互いに対する速度を制御する手段と、
前記ウェブが前記ギャップにある間に前記ウェブを感知する手段であって、前記速度を制御する手段に電子的に結合されている手段とを具備する、請求項10に記載のシステム。 - 前記共回転部材の一方はペーシングロールであり、前記他方の共回転部材は従動ロールである、請求項13に記載のシステム。
- 前記ウェブを感知する手段は光センサである、請求項13に記載のシステム。
- 第1の部分と、第2の部分と、第3の部分とを有するウェブ経路を形成する工程を有し、
前記第1の部分は第1の回転部材に沿って通過し、前記第2の部分は有効半径を有する円弧部分を有し、前記第3の部分は第2の回転部材を通過し、さらに前記第1の部材および前記第2の部材が共回転部材であり、
更に、前記ウェブ経路にウェブを通過させる工程と、
前記ウェブが前記円弧部分を通過するとき前記ウェブに塑性歪みを起こす工程とを有する、ウェブに塑性変形を起こす方法。 - 前記ウェブ経路を形成する工程は、第1のローラに沿って通過する前記第1の部分を形成する工程と、第2のローラに沿って通過する前記第2の部分を形成する工程とをさらに有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記ウェブ経路を形成する工程は、第1のベルトアセンブリに沿って通過する前記第1の部分を形成する工程と、第2のベルトアセンブリに沿って通過する前記第2の部分を形成する工程とをさらに有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記ウェブ経路の前記第2の部分を通過する際に前記ウェブの半径を変更する工程をさらに有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記塑性歪みを起こす工程は、機械方向における前記ウェブの関数として変化する塑性歪みを起こす工程を有する、請求項19に記載の方法。
- ウェブ経路を有する機械と、
ウェブに塑性歪みを起こす手段であって、前記ウェブの一表面と接触しない手段とを有する、ウェブに歪みを起こすシステム。 - 前記塑性歪みを起こす手段は、一対の共回転部材であって該一対の共回転部材の間にギャップを備えた一対の共回転部材を有する、請求項21に記載のシステム。
- 前記共回転部材は、ローラおよびベルトからなる群から選択される、請求項22に記載のシステム。
