引張弾性率はASTM Test Method D−638に従って決定し、Mpa単位で報告する。
極限引張弾性率はASTM Test Method D−638に従って決定し、Mpa単位で報告する。
曲げ弾性率はASTM Test Method D−790に従って決定し、Mpa単位で報告する。
最終曲げ強度はASTM Test Method D−790に従って決定し、Mpa単位で報告する。
破断伸びはASTM Test Method D−638に従って決定し、%として報告する。
ノッチ付アイゾット衝撃強度はASTM Test Method D−256に従って決定し、J/cm単位で報告する。
商品名「アキュピック1330ピクノメータ(ACCUPYC 1330 PYCNOMETER)」のジョージア州ノークロスのマイクロメリティクス(Micromeritics,Norcross,Georgia))から入手した完全自動気体置換型ピクノメータを用いて、射出成形された複合材の密度を、ASTM D−2840−69、「中空微細球の平均真粒子密度(Average True Particle Density of Hollow Microspheres)」に従って決定した。
ロスミキサー(Ross Mixer)(ニューヨーク州ハーパーグのチャールズロス&サン(Charles Ross & Son Company,Hauppauge,NY)から販売されている)に、N−2−(アミノエチル)−3−アミノプロピルトリメトキシシランの溶液(1500g;0.5重量%;商品名「A1120」でニューヨーク州アルバニーのOsiスペシャルティ(Osi Specialties,Albany,NY)から販売されている)を投入した。グラスバブル(商品名「S60HS」で3M社(ミネソタ州セントポール(St.Paul,MN)から販売されている)を中程度の混合速度でゆっくりと加え、この混合物を15分間混合した。このあと得られたペースト状物をアルミニウムパンの中に注ぎ、一晩80℃の強制空気オーブン中で乾燥させた。乾燥グラスバブルを180ミクロンスクリーンで篩にかけて、塊を除去した。
グラスバブル用サイドフィーダーおよびペレット化付属装置が装着された二軸押出機(ベルストルフ・ウルトラ・グライド(Berstorff Ultra Glide);スクリュー直径25mm;長さ対直径の比は36:1であった;スクリュー回転数は200〜250rpm;温度設定点における温度は200°F〜575°F(93℃〜302℃)であったが実際の値は148°F〜575°F(64℃〜302℃)であった;押出し量は10ポンド/時(4.5Kg/時)であった)にポリプロピレン(AtoFina社から入手、商品名「フィナ(FINA) 3825」;230℃のメルトインデックス30g/分、Tm165℃、密度0.905g/cm3)および無水マレイン酸(コネチカット州ミドルベリィのクロンプトン社(Crompton Corporation,Middleburry, CT)から入手、商品名「ポリボンド(POLYBOND) 3200」)を投入した。試験サンプルは、スクリュー直径が30mmの射出成形機(150トンエンゲル射出成形機(Engel Injection Molding Machine);ASTM規格に準拠した4つの金型を備えた)で、射出圧を18,000psi(124MPa)未満に維持しながら成形した。
Claims (8)
- 少なくとも1種の熱可塑性オレフィン、無水マレイン酸、およびグラスバブルを含んでなる充填熱可塑性樹脂複合材。
- 前記グラスバブルがシランカップリング剤またはチタネート系カップリング剤の少なくともひとつで処理されている請求項1に記載の複合材。
- 前記シランカップリング剤がアミノシランである、請求項2に記載の複合材。
- 前記シランカップリング剤がアミノプロピルトリエトキシシランおよびN−2−(アミノエチル)−3−アミノプロピルトリメトキシシランから選択される請求項3に記載の複合材。
- 前記グラスバブルが少なくとも3,000PSIの圧潰強度を示す、請求項1に記載の複合材。
- 前記グラスバブルが少なくとも18,000PSIの圧潰強度を示す、請求項1に記載の複合材。
- 前記熱可塑性オレフィンが、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、ポリブチレン、ポリスチレン、およびこれらのコポリマーからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の複合材。
- 請求項1に記載の複合材を含んでなる物品。
