Abstract
Description
Claims (11)
- 第1の透明支持板と第2の支持板の間の空間内に、相互に不混和性の、少なくとも第1の流体と第2の流体を有する光スイッチであって、
前記第2の流体は、電気伝導性または極性があり、当該スイッチは、少なくとも一つの前記支持板上に、当該光スイッチの全領域の一部のみを覆う第1の電極を有することを特徴とする光スイッチ。 - 前記第1の電極は、当該光スイッチの端部に沿って、少なくとも一部を除去されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光スイッチ。
- 前記第1の電極は、実質的に長方形状の光スイッチの隅部の一つに沿って、少なくとも一部を除去されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の光スイッチ。
- 前記第1の電極は、当該光スイッチの端部に沿って、当該光スイッチの全面積の少なくとも5%を占める部分を除去されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の光スイッチ。
- 前記第1の電極は、当該光スイッチの端部に沿って、当該光スイッチの全面積の最大50%を占める部分を除去されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の光スイッチ。
- 前記第1の電極は、当該光スイッチの端部に沿って、当該光スイッチの全面積の最大10%を占める部分を除去されていることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の光スイッチ。
- 当該光スイッチの残留領域に、少なくとも一つの別の電極を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光スイッチ。
- 前記第1および別の電極に、電圧を印加する駆動手段を有することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の光スイッチ。
- 複数の画像素子を有する表示装置であって、各画像素子は、請求項1または2に記載の光スイッチを有することを特徴とする表示装置。
- 前記第1の電極が除去された前記部分に、スイッチ装置が存在することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1の電極が除去された前記部分は、ブラックマスクによって被覆されることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の表示装置。
