INEOS ACRYLICS社から入手できるELVACITE 2008ポリ(メチルメタクリレート)(固有粘度約0.183cm3g−1)111グラムをボトル内の1−メトキシ−2−プロパノール450グラムに添加し、ローラーミル上で転がして溶解させることで、PMMAの1−メトキシ−2−プロパノール溶液を調製した。得られた溶液をフラスコに移し、溶液の表面上に約100cc/min(立方センチメートル/分)の窒素流をゆっくりと流しながら約80℃に加熱して、PMMAの脱気1−メトキシ−2−プロパノール溶液を得た。この「脱気」溶液を、窒素圧により、ゴム隔膜を備えた無酸素ボトルにカニューレで移した。
PMMA/酸化ロイコメチレンブルーで被覆したディスクの製造及びディスク反射率の測定
実施例1で調製したPMMA/酸化ロイコメチレンブルーコーティング溶液約3mLを、スピンコーター上に保持したDVDの内径の周囲にリングとして塗布した。600回転/分(rpm)で60秒間スピンコートした後、コーティングは不粘着性で濃い青色を示した。DR.SHENK PROmeteus測定器(モデルMT−136E)を用いて被覆ディスクの反射率を測定した。ここに記載した手順を用いて複数のディスクを製造し、DR.SHENK PROmeteus測定器を用いてこれらの反射率を測定した。初期平均反射率は4.9〜8.3%の範囲内にあった。
表1に示すコーティング配合物を使用しながら、例1及び2に記載したようにして限定再生型DVDを製造した。
各溶液に関し、3つの試料をDVDディスクの表面上にスピンコートした(3mLアリコート、600rpm、60秒)。例2に記載したようにして初期反射率を測定した。試料をキセノンWEAHER−O−METER(「WoM」)内に20時間配置した。例2に記載したようにして最終反射率の測定を行った。表2に示す通り、結果を対照試料の結果と比較した。
反応層中にPHS(ポリヒドロキシスチレン、例6)を用いて製造したDVDは、反応層中にポリヒドロキシ誘導体を含まないDVD(例3)に比べて顕著に向上した耐光漂白性を示した。例5は、反応層中にPHS−co−MMA(ポリ(ヒドロキシスチレン−コ−メチルメタクリレート))コポリマーを使用すると、PHSのみの使用(例6)ほど良好ではないものの、対照試料に比べて多少向上した耐光漂白性を与えることを示している。反応層中へのPHSの使用(例6)は、4,4’−ビフェノールのような小分子のポリヒドロキシ化合物の使用(例4)に比べても向上した耐光漂白性を与える。
アルミニウム蒸着ポリカーボネート製の「ハーフDVD」ディスク上に、表1の配合物溶液を用いて3つのフィルムをスピンコートした(3mLアリコート、600rpm、60秒)。追加の添加剤を含まない溶液を用いてさらに3つのフィルムをスピンコートし、これら3つの試料を対照品として使用した。次に、5mLのDAICURE SD698(Dai Nippon Inc.)接着剤をハーフディスクの内径上に供給した。無色透明のポリカーボネート製ハーフディスクをその上に配置し、この「サンドイッチ」を回転させた(1500rpm、20秒)。回転完了の直後、FUSION UV SYSTEMS,INC.のUV光装置(1.1J/cm2、1.6W/cm2)を用いてディスクを硬化させた。この操作を各試料について繰り返した。対照試料(例7)で認められる光漂白の抑制に関し、ポリヒドロキシスチレン(PHS)及び酢酸セルロースのような高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物の有効性を例示するデータを表3に示す。

このDVD接着剤は、使用前の数時間以内に混合される3種の液(A、B及びC)を含む空気感受性組成物である。A液を調製するためには、まず空気中で静かに撹拌しながらSARTOMER社のモノマーSR351及びSR495を室温でブレンドし、次いで撹拌しながら60℃に約1時間加温してポリヒドロキシスチレン粉末(PHS−8E01)を溶解した。次に、弱めた照明条件下でIrgacure 819を添加し、撹拌及び加熱を約1.5時間続けた。この時点以後、粉末及び混合物全体を弱めた光又は黄色フィルターを通した光の下で取り扱った。最後に、Tinuvin 292を添加し、混合物を均質になるまで短時間だけ(約10分間)暗所で撹拌した。A液は比較的安定であり、使用までの数ヵ月間にわたり室温で暗所に貯蔵することができた。
DVDハーフディスク(厚さ0.6mmのポリカーボネート)を、データ側を上に向けて実験室用スピンコーターの中心に配置した。ディスクを静止状態に保ちながら、ディスクの中心から直径約30〜40mmの位置に材料の一様な円形リングを描くようにして接着剤をデータ側に塗布した。次いで、へりが下部のディスクから離れる方向に僅かにそるようにして、接着すべきディスクを溶液に向けてゆっくりと降下させた。上部及び下部のディスクの間に空気が閉じ込められないように注意した。数秒後、接着剤が上部及び下部のディスクの間に広がった。若干の例では、材料がディスクの外径に到達するようにディスクを回転させた。ディスクを500〜1000rpmで約10秒間回転させることで、接着剤層を平坦にすると共に過剰の材料を除去する。この時点で、約1.5インチのランプ距離でフラッシュUVランプ(XENON CORPORATIONのRC742)を用いてディスクを約2秒間硬化させる。
下記の表4中に示すように様々な濃度のポリヒドロキシスチレン(PHS)を含む、上述のDVD接着剤配合に基づく各種のDVD接着剤を用いて以下の試料を作製した。これらの例では、無色のGE LEXAN OQ1030ポリカーボネートを用いてDVD基板を成形した。接着後、DVDを1週間以上空気に暴露することで、反応性染料(ロイコメチレンブルー)をメチレンブルーに実質的に転化させた。次いで、酸化したディスクを、約5〜約5.5kW/m2の放射束密度で動作するATLAS 3SUN XENON WEATHER−O−METER(WoM)内に下記表中に示した時間だけ配置する。DR.SCHENK PROmeteus MT−136光ディスクテスターを用いて、ディスクの反射率を露光前及び露光後に測定した。下記に示す反射率の値は、ディスクへの入射光に対する百分率として表した反射光の強度を示している。
反応性染料接着剤中にPHS(例11〜13)を用いて製造したDVDは、反応性染料接着剤中にポリヒドロキシ誘導体を含まないDVD(例10)に比べて顕著に向上した耐光漂白性を示した。さらに、耐光漂白性は高い濃度のPHSを使用するほど向上することもわかった(15%のPHSを含む例13は、それぞれ5%及び10%のPHSを含む例11及び例12より安定した露光後反射率を有する)。また、反応性染料接着剤の粘度も重要である。
例14〜17
以下の例は、接着剤に酢酸酪酸セルロースを添加した場合、耐光漂白性はポリヒドロキシスチレン(PHS)で認められる程度より一段と顕著に向上することを実証している。試料をWEAHER−O−METER内に一層長い時間(48時間)配置した。接着剤配合物がPHS及び酢酸酪酸セルロースの両方を含む例15では、例14(PHSのみ)に比べて露光に対する安定性の向上を示した。例16及び17(PHSなし)は顕著な光漂白を示したが、それでも酢酸酪酸セルロースの有益な効果は極めて明らかである。5%の酢酸酪酸セルロースでは、%反射率は50%超に増加した(例17)が、2%の酢酸酪酸セルロースでは、%反射率は61%超に増加した(例16)。これらの例も、高分子光漂白抑制剤の組合せが有利に使用できることを実証している。酢酸セルロース、ヒドロプロピルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース及び他のセルロース系ポリマーのようなセルロース誘導体が、光漂白抑制剤としての意外な有効性を示した。
Claims (65)
- 限定再生型光記憶媒体用の反応性染料層のためのコーティング配合物であって、
(a)1種以上の高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物、
(b)1種以上のキャリヤー、及び
(c)1種以上の反応性物質
を含んでなるコーティング配合物。 - 高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物が、ポリヒドロキシスチレンホモポリマー、ポリヒドロキシスチレンコポリマー及びセルロース誘導体からなる群から選択される、請求項1記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記ポリヒドロキシスチレンコポリマーが、4−ヒドロキシスチレン誘導体を1種以上のオレフィンコモノマーと共に重合させることで製造される、請求項2記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記オレフィンコモノマーが、メチルメタクリレート、2−ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート、メチルアクリレート、エチルアクリレート、ジメチルフマレート、ジメチルマレエート、無水マレイン酸、アクリロニトリル、ブタジエン、イソプレン、スチレン、エチレン及びテトラフルオロエチレンからなる群から選択される、請求項3記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記ポリヒドロキシスチレンコポリマーがポリ(ヒドロキシスチレン−コ−メチルメタクリレート)である、請求項2記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記ポリヒドロキシスチレンホモポリマーが枝分れポリヒドロキシスチレンである、請求項2記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記セルロース誘導体が、セルロース、酢酸セルロース、酢酸酪酸セルロース、プロピオン酸セルロース、三酢酸セルロース、エチルセルロース、ヒドロキシブチルメチルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルセルロース、ヒドロキシプロピルメチルセルロース及びメチルセルロースからなる群から選択される、請求項2記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記反応性物質が、酸素感受性ロイコメチレンブルー、ブリリアントクレジルブルー、ベーシックブルー3、トルイジン0、上述の反応性物質の1種以上を含む組合せ、及び上述の反応性物質のいずれかの保護形態からなる群から選択される、請求項1記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記キャリヤーがポリ(メチルメタクリレート)からなり、前記反応性物質がロイコメチレンブルーからなる、請求項1記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記反応性物質が、当該コーティング配合物の全重量を基準にして約1〜約10重量%に相当する量で存在する、請求項1記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記反応性物質が、当該コーティング配合物の全重量を基準にして約4〜約7重量%に相当する量で存在する、請求項10記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記反応性物質が、当該コーティング配合物の全重量を基準にして約4〜約6重量%に相当する量で存在する、請求項11記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記キャリヤーが、熱可塑性アクリルポリマー、ポリエステル樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ポリチオレン、UV硬化性有機樹脂、ポリウレタン、熱硬化性アクリルポリマー、アルキド樹脂、ビニル樹脂、並びに上述のキャリヤーの1種以上を含む反応生成物及び組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項1記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記キャリヤーが熱可塑性アクリルポリマーである、請求項13記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記熱可塑性アクリルポリマーがポリ(メチルメタクリレート/メタクリル酸)からなる、請求項14記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記キャリヤーが約0.300cm3g−1未満の固有粘度を有する、請求項1記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記キャリヤーが約0.250cm3g−1未満の固有粘度を有する、請求項16記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記キャリヤーが約0.200cm3g−1未満の固有粘度を有する、請求項17記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物が、当該配合物の全重量を基準にして約1〜約20重量%に相当する量で存在する、請求項1記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物が、当該コーティング配合物の全重量を基準にして約3〜約15重量%の範囲内で存在する、請求項19記載のコーティング配合物。
- 前記高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物が、当該コーティング配合物の全重量を基準にして約5〜約10重量%の範囲内で存在する、請求項20記載のコーティング配合物。
- 限定再生型光記憶媒体用の反応性染料層のためのコーティング配合物であって、
(a)ポリヒドロキシスチレンホモポリマー、
(b)約0.200cm3g−1未満の固有粘度を有するポリ(メチルメタクリレート/メタクリル酸)とポリメチルメタクリレートとからなるキャリヤー、及び
(c)N−(トリイソプロピルシリルオキシカルボニル)ロイコメチレンブルーからなる反応性物質
を含んでなり、前記ポリヒドロキシスチレンホモポリマーが反応層の全重量の約5〜約10重量%に相当する量で存在する、コーティング配合物。 - a)第一の光学的に透明な基板、
b)反射層、
c)前記基板と前記反射層との間に配設されたデータ層、
d)(i)1種以上の高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物、
(ii)1種以上のキャリヤー、及び
(iii)1種以上の反応性物質
を含む反応層、並びに
e)第二の基板
を含んでなるデータ用限定再生型光記憶媒体。 - 前記高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物がポリヒドロキシスチレンホモポリマーからなる、請求項23記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。
- 前記高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物がポリ(ヒドロキシスチレン−コ−メチルメタクリレート)からなる、請求項23記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。
- 前記第一の基板が塑性物質である、請求項23記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。
- 前記塑性物質が、約100℃以上のガラス転移温度を有する1種以上の熱可塑性樹脂からなる、請求項26記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂が、ポリ塩化ビニル、ポリオレフィン、ポリエステル、ポリアミド、ポリスルホン、ポリイミド、ポリエーテルイミド、ポリエーテルスルホン、ポリフェニレンスルフィド、ポリエーテルケトン、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン、ABS樹脂、ポリスチレン、ポリブタジエン、ポリアクリレート、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリアセタール、ポリカーボネート、ポリフェニレンエーテル、エチレン−酢酸ビニルコポリマー、ポリ酢酸ビニル、液晶ポリマー、エチレン−テトラフルオロエチレンコポリマー、芳香族ポリエステル、ポリフッ化ビニル、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、ポリ塩化ビニリデン、テトラフルオロエチレン、並びに上述の熱可塑性樹脂の1種以上を含む混合物、コポリマー、反応生成物及び複合物からなる群から選択される、請求項27記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂がポリカーボネートからなる、請求項28記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。
- 前記反応性物質が、酸素感受性ロイコメチレンブルー、還元形ブリリアントクレジルブルー、還元形ベーシックブルー3、還元形トルイジン0、及び上述の反応性物質の1種以上を含む組合せからなる群から選択される、請求項23記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。
- 前記反応層がさらにポリ(メチルメタクリレート)及びロイコメチレンブルーを含む、請求項30記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。
- 前記反応性物質が、前記反応層の全重量を基準にして約1〜約10重量%の範囲内で存在する、請求項23記載の限定再生型光記憶媒体。

を含んでなる接着剤配合物。 - 高分子ポリヒドロキシ化合物が、ポリヒドロキシスチレンホモポリマー、ポリヒドロキシスチレンコポリマー及びセルロース誘導体からなる群から選択される、請求項48記載の接着剤配合物。
- 前記ポリヒドロキシスチレンコポリマーが、4−ヒドロキシスチレン誘導体を1種以上のオレフィンコモノマーと共に重合させることで製造される、請求項49記載の接着剤配合物。
- 前記オレフィンコモノマーが、メチルメタクリレート、2−ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート、メチルアクリレート、エチルアクリレート、ジメチルフマレート、ジメチルマレエート、無水マレイン酸、アクリロニトリル、ブタジエン、イソプレン、スチレン、エチレン及びテトラフルオロエチレンからなる群から選択される、請求項50記載の接着剤配合物。

- 前記反応性物質が、当該接着剤配合物の全重量を基準にして約1〜約7重量%に相当する量で存在する、請求項57記載の接着剤配合物。
- 前記反応性物質が、当該接着剤配合物の全重量を基準にして約1〜約4重量%に相当する量で存在する、請求項58記載の接着剤配合物。
- 前記硬化性アクリレートモノマーが、多官能性アクリレート及びモノアクリレートからなる群から選択される、請求項48記載の接着剤配合物。
- 前記多官能性アクリレートがトリメチロールプロパントリアクリレートであり、前記モノアクリレートがフェノキシエチルアクリレートである、請求項60記載の接着剤配合物。
