Abstract
Description
Claims (22)
- 液滴を被印刷物上に付着させる装置であって、
前記被印刷物用の支持体と、
前記支持体の上方に配置され、前記液滴を前記支持体上の前記被印刷物上に付着させる液滴噴出組立体と、
前記支持体とともに、囲われた領域を形成する囲い構造であって、前記液滴は前記囲われた領域を通って前記被印刷物上に噴出され、前記囲い構造は前記支持体とともに入口の隙間および出口の隙間を形成し、前記被印刷物は前記入口の隙間および前記出口の隙間を通って進む、囲い構造と、
前記囲い構造に接続され、前記囲い構造から前記両隙間を通る気体の流れを生じさせる、加圧された気体の供給源と、
を有する、液滴を被印刷物上に付着させる装置。 - 前記囲い構造は、前記液滴噴出組立体の上方に配置されている囲いを有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記加圧された気体の圧力は、公称大気圧よりも約0.1インチから約10インチの水の分だけ高い、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記入口の隙間は約0.006インチから約0.100インチである、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記出口の隙間は約0.006インチから約0.100インチである、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記囲い構造は、前記加圧された気体を前記各隙間に隣接するそれぞれの切れ込み部まで送る多岐管分配システムを有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記加圧された気体の圧力は、公称大気圧よりも約0.1インチから約10インチの水の分だけ高い、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記入口の隙間は約0.006インチから約0.100インチである、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記出口の隙間は約0.006インチから約0.100インチである、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記液滴はインキを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記被印刷物は紙を含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 連続的に移動する支持体をさらに有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記加圧された気体の供給源から微粒子状の物質を取り除くフィルターをさらに有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記加圧された気体の供給源に水分を加えることをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記加圧された気体の供給源に溶剤を加えることをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記隙間と前記気体の圧力は、前記気体を前記被印刷物の速度よりも速い速度で前記隙間を通過させて送るような大きさである、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記気体は空気である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記気体は空気の酸素含有量よりも少ない酸素含有量を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記気体は空気の酸素含有量よりも多い酸素含有量を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記入口の隙間は約0.006インチから約0.100インチである、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記出口の隙間は、約0.006インチから約0.100インチである、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記隙間と前記気体の圧力は、前記被印刷物を前記支持体に押し付けて平らにするような大きさである、請求項1に記載の装置。
