Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の平板表示装置は、複数の走査線、複数の発光制御線および複数のデータ線を含み、複数のデータ線に伝達されるデータ信号に対応する画像を表示する画素部100と、走査線に走査信号を伝達し、発光制御線に発光制御信号を伝達する走査駆動部200と、データ線にデータ信号を伝達するデータ駆動部300と、走査駆動部200およびデータ駆動部300に制御信号および/またはデータを提供するタイミング制御部600と、周辺光に対応する感知信号を生成し、感知信号により画素部100の輝度を制御する輝度制御ユニット500とを備える。輝度制御ユニット500は、画素部100に初期画面が表示される前に画素部100外部の周辺光を感知して、画素部100に最初に表示される初期画面を周辺光に対応する輝度に制御する。

Claims (15)
- 複数の走査線、複数の発光制御線および複数のデータ線を含み、前記複数のデータ線に伝達されるデータ信号に対応する画像を表示する画素部と、
前記走査線に走査信号を伝達し、前記発光制御線に発光制御信号を伝達する走査駆動部と、
前記データ線に前記データ信号を伝達するデータ駆動部と、
前記走査駆動部および前記データ駆動部に制御信号および/またはデータを提供するタイミング制御部と、
周辺光に対応する感知信号を生成し、前記感知信号により前記画素部の輝度を制御する輝度制御ユニットとを含み、
前記輝度制御ユニットは、前記画素部に初期画面が表示される前に画素部外部の周辺光を感知して、前記画素部に最初に表示される初期画面を前記周辺光に対応する輝度に制御することを特徴とする、平板表示装置。 - 前記輝度制御ユニットは、前記タイミング制御部内に備えられることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の平板表示装置。
- 前記平板表示装置は、有機発光表示装置であることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の平板表示装置。
- 前記輝度制御ユニットは、
周辺光の明るさを複数の段階に区分して感知し、前記各段階の明るさに対応する感知信号を出力する光感知部と、
前記感知信号に対応して前記画素部の輝度を調節する複数の輝度のレジスタ設定値を設定、保存するレジスタ生成部と、
前記感知信号を用いて前記レジスタ設定値を選択する制御信号を出力する変換処理部と、
を備えることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の平板表示装置。 - 前記輝度制御ユニットは、外部から入力される垂直同期信号に同期して1フレーム内の所定期間をカウントするカウンタをさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の平板表示装置。
- 前記光感知部は、前記画素部に画像が表示される前まで、垂直同期信号Vsyncを用いて1フレーム単位で周辺光を感知することを特徴とする、請求項4または5に記載の平板表示装置。
- 前記輝度のレジスタ設定値は、各階調に対応するガンマ値に設定されることを特徴とする、請求項4〜6のいずれかに記載の平板表示装置。
- 外部から電源信号および初期化信号が供給されて、少なくとも走査駆動部およびデータ駆動部を含む各構成部に駆動電源が供給される駆動電源供給段階と、
画素部の初期画面の輝度を調節するための複数のレジスタ設定値を保存するレジスタ設定値保存段階と、
周辺光を感知して該周辺光に対応する感知信号を出力し、前記設定された複数のレジスタ設定値のうち、前記周辺光の明るさに対応する所定の感知信号に応じてレジスタ設定値を選択するレジスタ設定値選択段階と、
前記レジスタ設定値に基づいて調節された輝度を適用し、前記画素部に初期画面を表示する初期画面表示段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする、平板表示装置の制御方法。 - 輝度調節のため前記レジスタ設定値は、各階調に対応するガンマ値に設定されることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の平板表示装置の制御方法。
- 前記周辺光は、前記画素部に初期画像が表示される前まで、垂直同期信号Vsyncを用いて1フレーム単位で感知されることを特徴とする、請求項8または9に記載の平板表示装置の制御方法。
- 前記平板表示装置は、有機発光表示装置であることを特徴とする、請求項8〜10のいずれかに記載の平板表示装置の制御方法。
- 発光制御信号およびデータ信号を受け取って画像を表示する平板表示装置の制御方法において、
(a)外部から電源信号および初期化信号が供給されて、少なくとも走査駆動部およびデータ駆動部を含む各構成部に駆動電源を供給する段階と、
(b)周辺光に対応して前記発光制御信号または前記データ信号を調節する段階と、
(c)画素部に前記駆動電源を供給して、前記画素部が前記(b)段階を通じて明るさが調節された初期画面を表示する段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする、平板表示装置の制御方法。 - 前記(b)段階は、
(b−1)前記初期画面の明るさを調節するための複数のレジスタ設定値を保存する段階と、
(b−2)前記周辺光を感知して該周辺光に対応する感知信号を出力し、前記複数のレジスタ設定値のうち、前記感知信号に対応する前記レジスタ設定値を呼び出す段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の平板表示装置の制御方法。 - 前記(b−2)段階で感知信号を出力するに際し、
前記レジスタ設定値が保存された後前記初期画面が表示される前までフレーム単位で前記周辺光を感知して、前記初期画面が表示される直前の前記感知信号を出力することを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の平板表示装置の制御方法。 - 前記平板表示装置は、有機発光表示装置であることを特徴とする、請求項12〜14のいずれかに記載の平板表示装置の制御方法。
