本発明はタッチスイッチに関する。特に、本発明は熱成形や射出成形等の成形技術を用いてコントロールパネルや他の基板にタッチスイッチを一体化することに関する。
タッチスイッチは、機械的なスイッチと比較して多くの利点を持っており、その代替品として長い間使用されている。周知のタッチスイッチは一般に、タッチパッドと関連制御回路を含んでいる。タッチパッドは通常、一つ以上の電極からなり、剛性または可撓性の支持体に取り付けられた他の電子部品を含む場合もある。関連制御回路はタッチパッドの近傍またはタッチパッドから離れた位置、あるいは別の位置で支持体に取り付けることができる。タッチスイッチ支持体は一般に、タッチスイッチ支持体上のタッチパッドに対応する一つ以上の接触面を備えた別の予備成型パネルに取り付けられる。このパネルすなわち接触面基板(ここでは、コントロールパネルまたはコントロールパネル基板と呼ぶ)は一般にガラスまたはプラスチックで作られていて、人間工学的または装飾的なコントロールパネルインタフェースとして働く構造と特徴をもつ。タッチスイッチ支持体は一般に、スタッド/ブラケット構造などの機械的な手段、スナップ式プラスチックアセンブリ、接着剤、または上記と他の機械的取り付け構造および技術との組み合わせを使用することによって、接触面基板に取り付けられる。
本発明は、タッチスイッチ支持体を他の基板に一体化し、そのタッチスイッチに対応する接触面を設けたコントロールパネルとして基板を機能させることによって、従来技術の欠点を克服する。本発明では例えば、タッチスイッチとその支持体を熱成形または射出成形等の成型工程において接触面基板に一体化する。このような成型技術では、さらに一体化タッチスイッチ/コントロールパネル・アセンブリへの個別部品の確実な取り付けを保証するために、機械的アンカーと接着剤を使用することができる。
図面は一般的な説明手段として容量性タッチスイッチと電界タッチスイッチを示しているが、当業者には明らかな通り、本発明の原理は様々なタッチスイッチ装置、限定的ではないが例えば容量性タッチスイッチ、赤外線タッチスイッチ、電界タッチスイッチ、音響タッチスイッチ、電磁タッチスイッチに適用することができる。具体的な例として、米国特許No. 5,594,222、No. 5,856,646、No. 6,310,611、No. 6,320,282(発明者はいずれもDavid W. Claims (8)
- 少なくとも一つの接触スイッチ装置と、
前記少なくとも一つの接触スイッチ装置に対応する少なくとも一つの接触面を画定する基板とを有し、
前記接触スイッチ装置と前記基板を一体化したコントロールパネル。 - 支持体上に設けられた少なくとも一つの接触スイッチ装置と、
前記少なくとも一つの接触スイッチ装置に対応する少なくとも一つの接触面を画定する基板とを有し、
前記支持体と前記基板を一体化したコントロールパネル。 - 前記支持体と前記基板の少なくとも一方に熱成型可能材料が含まれる請求項2記載のコントロールパネル。
- 前記支持体または前記基板の少なくとも一方に更にアンカーが含まれる請求項3記載のコントロールパネル。
- 前記支持体と前記基板の少なくとも一方に射出成型可能材料が含まれる請求項2記載のコントロールパネル。
- 前記支持体または前記基板の少なくとも一方に更に少なくとも1つのアンカーが含まれる請求項5記載のコントロールパネル。
- タッチスイッチとコントロールパネルを一体化する方法であって、
支持体上に少なくとも一つの電極を配置するステップと、
熱成型可能基板と接合した状態で前記支持体を配置するステップと、
前記基板を前記支持体に熱成型するステップと
を含む一体化方法。 - タッチスイッチとコントロールパネルを一体化する方法であって、
支持体上に少なくとも一つの電極を配置するステップと、
部材の射出成型に適したモールドと接合した状態で前記支持体を配置するステップと、
前記支持体の少なくとも一部を封入するために前記モールドに射出成型材料を導入するステップと
を含む一体化方法。
