Abstract
【解決手段】 鈍波リセットを用いたプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法であって、映像信号の表示率に応じて前記鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間t1を制御するように構成する。

Description
図2および図3に示されるように、各サブフィールド(例えば、SF1〜SF8)は、それぞれ表示領域における全てのセルの壁電荷(帯電状態)を均一にするリセット期間(初期化過程)TR、点灯すべきセルに壁電荷を形成して点灯セルを選択するアドレス期間(アドレス過程)TA、および、壁電荷が形成された点灯セルを輝度に応じた回数だけ放電(点灯)させるサステイン期間(表示過程)TSで構成され、各サブフィールドの表示ごとに輝度に応じてセルを点灯させ、例えば、8つのサブフィールド(SF1〜SF8)を表示することで1フィールドの表示を行うようになっている。
図5は本発明に係るプラズマディスプレイ装置の一実施例を概略的に示すブロック図である。
該プラズマディスプレイパネルに与えられる映像信号の表示率を検出する表示率検出回路と、
前記プラズマディスプレイパネルを鈍波リセットによりリセットするリセット回路と、
前記映像信号の表示率に応じて前記鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を制御する到達維持時間設定回路と、を備え、前記鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を制御することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。

Claims (10)
- 鈍波リセットを用いたプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法であって、映像信号の表示率に応じて前記鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を制御することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法において、前記映像信号の表示率が低いときは前記鈍波リセットの到達電位を下げるようにして該鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を短くすることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法において、前記映像信号の表示率が高いときは前記鈍波リセットの到達電位を上げるようにして該鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を長くすることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法において、前記映像信号の表示率が低いときは前記鈍波リセットの傾きを緩やかにして該鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を短くすることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法において、前記映像信号の表示率が高いときは前記鈍波リセットの傾きを急峻にして該鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を長くすることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法において、サブフィールドごとに前記鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を制御することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法において、前記鈍波リセットの波形形状をCRの時定数によって変化させて該鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を制御することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- プラズマディスプレイパネルと、
該プラズマディスプレイパネルに与えられる映像信号の表示率を検出する表示率検出回路と、
前記プラズマディスプレイパネルを鈍波リセットによりリセットするリセット回路と、
前記映像信号の表示率に応じて前記鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を制御する到達維持時間設定回路と、を備え、前記鈍波リセットの到達電位の維持時間を制御することを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 請求項8に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置において、前記リセット回路は、前記制御信号により制御される電流源およびスイッチ素子を備えることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 請求項8に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置において、前記リセット回路は、前記制御信号により制御される可変抵抗素子およびスイッチ素子を備えることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。
