Abstract
【解決手段】 水素と酸素とを反応させることで電力を生成する燃料電池51と、該燃料電池51に対して水素ガスを供給する水素ボンベ52と、燃料電池51により生成された電力に基づいて駆動輪である後輪32に対して供給する動力を生成するモータとを備え、水素ボンベ52が、その長手方向を車両前後方向に沿わせるようにして後輪32の上方に配置される燃料電池車両において、水素ボンベ52の長手方向に沿う軸線Cは、後輪32の幅方向の中心線RCからオフセットした位置にある。

Description
そこでこの発明は、車両の低重心化を図りつつ駆動輪の十分な揺動ストローク量を確保できる燃料電池車両を提供する。
この構成によれば、水素ボンベを単に上方に移動させることなく、該水素ボンベと駆動輪とのクリアランスを確保することが可能となる。
この構成によれば、水素ボンベが水や飛石等から保護されると共に、車両の外観が良好に維持される。
請求項3に記載した発明によれば、乗員の足に沿う部分の車体幅を抑えて車両の足付き性を向上できる。
請求項4に記載した発明によれば、車両の足付き性をより一層向上できる。
請求項5に記載した発明によれば、水素ボンベの保護性を向上できると共に車両の外観性を向上できる。
燃料電池51は単位電池(単位セル)を多数積層してなる周知の固体高分子膜型燃料電池(PEMFC)であり、そのアノード側に燃料ガスとして水素ガスを供給し、カソード側に酸化剤ガスとして酸素を含む空気を供給することで、電気化学反応により電力を生成すると共に水を生成するものである。
ここで、図6,7を併せて参照して説明すると、燃料電池51の上部後方には、車幅方向に長い筐体を有する加湿器59が近接配置される。該加湿器59左側部の斜め上後方には加給機58が近接配置され、該加給機58の斜め下後部には車幅方向に延在する導入ダクト57bの左側部が接続される。また、加湿器58左側部の上方には背圧弁58cが近接配置される。
また、図中符号FPは、車両停車時等にシート41に着座した前記乗員が地面(図中に線GLで示す)に足を付く際の足付き基準位置(以下、単に足付き位置という)を示し、該足付き位置FPが、着座位置HPよりも前方に、すなわち水素ボンベ52の前端部よりも前方に位置している。
そして、上記実施例における構成は一例であり、自動二輪車への適用に限定されないことはもちろん、発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々の変更が可能であることはいうまでもない。

Claims (5)
- 水素と酸素とを反応させることで電力を生成する燃料電池と、該燃料電池に対して水素ガスを供給する水素ボンベと、前記燃料電池により生成された電力に基づいて駆動輪に対して供給する動力を生成するモータとを備え、前記水素ボンベが、その長手方向を車両前後方向に沿わせるようにして前記駆動輪の上方に配置される燃料電池車両において、前記水素ボンベの長手方向に沿う中心線は、前記駆動輪の幅方向の中心線からオフセットした位置にあることを特徴とする燃料電池車両。
- 前記駆動輪は、車体フレームに対して揺動自在に支持されるリアフレームに対して取り付けられることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料電池車両。
- 前記水素ボンベは、その先端部が車両の着座位置の略真横となる位置にあることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の燃料電池車両。
- 前記水素ボンベは略円筒状を成し、その先端部が先細りに形成されることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項3の何れかに記載の燃料電池車両。
- 前記水素ボンベの表面を覆う車体カバーを備えることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4の何れかに記載の燃料電池車両。
