Abstract
Description

Claims (14)
- 流体物質を組織内に回転させて送達するための微小突起物アレイであって、
複数の微小突起物を上に又は中に取り付けるのに適した微小突起物面と、厚さを有するプラテン縁部とを含む少なくとも1つのプラテンと、
前記プラテンの前記微小突起物面の中に又は上に取り付けられ、各々が少なくとも1つの掻取り端を含む複数の微小突起物と、
前記微小突起物の間の間隔と、該微小突起物の間の1つ以上の凹部と、微小突起物のない1つ以上の領域と、微小突起物密度を低下させた1つ以上の領域と、前記物質を前記アレイの内部に向けて方向付けるのに適したパターンで前記プラテンに取り付けられた微小突起物の1つ以上の領域と、該プラテンの微小突起物取付面の1つ以上のチャネルと、これらの組み合わせとからなる群から選択される、少なくとも1つの流体物質保持手段と、
を備えることを特徴とするアレイ。 - 前記物質を方向付けるのに適した取り付けられた微小突起物のパターンは、微小突起物密度の異なる領域を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のアレイ。
- 前記微小突起物の各々は、
ベース中心部及びベース外周部を有する微小突起物ベースと、
微小突起物先端部と、
前記ベース中心部から前記微小突起物先端部までの微小突起物長さを有する縦軸線と、
をさらに備えることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のアレイ。 - 前記微小突起物面は、前記微小突起物ベース間に配置された複数のチャネルを備えることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のアレイ。
- 前記微小突起物長さは、前記プラテン縁部からアレイ中心部にかけて変化することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のアレイ。
- 前記プラテン縁部の前記厚さは、該プラテン縁部の最も外側の部分から前記プラテンの中心部にかけて変化することを特徴とする、請求項3に記載のアレイ。
- 前記少なくとも1つのプラテンは、回転式アブレーダ装置の表面と一体であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のアレイ。
- 2つ以上のプラテンをさらに備え、該プラテンに又はその上に微小突起物が取り付けられていること特徴とする、請求項1に記載のアレイ。
- 前記少なくとも1つの流体物質保持手段は、前記2つ以上のプラテンの間に配置されること特徴とする、請求項8に記載のアレイ。
- アブレーダ装置を介して物質を皮膚内に送達するための方法であって、
擦過用微小突起物の少なくとも1つのアレイであって、アブレーダ・ハウジングと前記アレイを回転させるのに適した機械的回転手段とを備えるアブレーダ装置に取り付けられたアレイを、被術者の皮膚上の送達部位に位置決めし、
前記被術者の角質層を貫通することなく前記角質層を崩壊させ、該角質層に実質的に侵入させるのに十分な力で、微小突起物の前記アレイを該被術者の皮膚に当てて機械的に回転させ、
前記アレイの前記機械的回転に先立って、又はそれと同時に、液体物質を前記送達部位における前記被術者の皮膚に付着させ、
前記アブレーダ装置を前記送達部位から取り外す、
ステップを含み、
前記少なくとも1つの微小突起物アレイは、中に又は上に取り付けられた複数の微小突起物を有する微小突起物面と、厚さを有するプラテン縁部とを含む少なくとも1つのプラテンをさらに備え、該微小突起物アレイは、前記微小突起物の間の間隔と、該微小突起物の間の1つ以上の凹部と、微小突起物のない1つ以上の領域と、微小突起物密度を低下させた1つ以上の領域と、前記物質を該アレイの内部に向けて方向付けるのに適したパターンで前記プラテンに取り付けられた微小突起物の1つ以上の領域と、該プラテンの微小突起物取付面の1つ以上のチャネルと、これらの組み合わせとからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの流体物質保持手段をさらに備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記アブレーダ・ハウジングは、前記微小突起物のアレイを囲み、上部ハウジングと、下部ハウジングと、内側ハウジングと、外側ハウジングと、それらの組み合わせとからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのハウジング要素を備え、前記少なくとも1つのハウジング要素の少なくとも1つは、該微小突起物アレイの機械的回転の際には静止しており、前記アブレーダ装置が前記被術者の皮膚に当てて位置決めされたときには、前記少なくとも1つの静止ハウジング要素は、該微小突起物アレイを前記送達部位の皮膚に当てて機械的に回転させる際に該送達部位の皮膚が動きにくくすることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記機械的回転の際に、前記アブレーダ装置を所定の大きさの力で前記被術者の皮膚上の前記送達部位に当てるステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記アブレーダ・ハウジングは、前記送達部位における前記被術者の皮膚に解放可能に取り付けられ、前記微小突起物アレイを機械的に回転させる際に前記皮膚を張った状態に保つことを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記物質は、前記アブレーダ装置が前記送達部位に位置決めされた後で、該送達部位における患者の皮膚に付着させられることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の方法。
