Description
吸収性クレイは、水を吸着するクレイとは異なる。水を吸着するクレイは、その表面に水を吸収するだけである。本発明に使用するクレイは、クレイ中の中間層のあき空間に水を吸い上げることによって、吸水する。クレイ中に吸収された水の放出は、クレイの表面に吸着された水の放出よりもよく制御されることがあることができるので、吸収性クレイは吸着性クレイよりも優れている。水放出の制御は、多峰性セル形成の制御を可能にする。水を吸収するのではなく吸着する傾向があるために吸収性クレイとはみなされないクレイの例としては、マイカ−イライト群3層鉱物、例えばピロフィライト、マスコバイト、ジオクタエドリック・イライト(dioktaedric illite)、海緑石、海泡石、タルク、黒雲母及びジオクタエドリック・イライトが挙げられる。
Claims (20)
- 内部に限定された多数のセルを有するポリマーと前記ポリマー内に分散された少なくとも1種の吸収性クレイとを含んでなるポリマー発泡体であって、前記発泡体が多峰性セルサイズ分布を有し且つポリマー100重量部当り0.2重量部未満のベントナイトを含むポリマー発泡体。
- 前記発泡体が前記クレイ以外の核剤を実質的に含まない請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- ピンホールを含むセルが1%未満である請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- 前記発泡体が、ASTM法D−3576に従って測定した、セルサイズが0.2〜2mmの第1セルとセルサイズが0.2mm未満の第2セルとを含む請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- 前記クレイがカオリナイト群の2層鉱物、スメクタイト群の3層鉱物及びそれらの塩からなる群から選ばれる請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- 前記クレイがハロイサイトである請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- 前記クレイが海泡石である請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- 前記ポリマーがポリスチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、ポリカーボネート及びポリエステルのポリマー並びにコポリマーからなる群から選ばれる請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- 前記発泡体が、新しい時には、二酸化炭素、水及び少なくとも1種の追加の発泡剤を含む請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- 前記発泡体が、新しい時には、二酸化炭素及び水を含むが、追加の発泡剤を本質的に含まない請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- 断熱剤を更に含む請求項1に記載の発泡体。
- (a)発泡を妨げる初期圧において、ポリマー及び少なくとも1種の吸収性クレイを含む可塑化ポリマー組成物と、発泡剤組成物重量当り、0.5〜99.5重量%の二酸化炭素及び0.5〜80重量%の水を含む発泡剤組成物とを合することによって、発泡性ポリマー組成物を製造し;そして
(b)初期圧からより低い圧力に減圧することによって、前記発泡性ポリマー組成物を、多数のセルを含むポリマー発泡体へと発泡させることを含んでなり、前記発泡性組成物がポリマー100重量部当り0.2重量部未満のベントナイトを含み且つ前記発泡体が多峰性セルサイズ分布を有する請求項1に記載の発泡体の製造方法。 - 水が、発泡剤重量当り少なくとも3重量%で且つポリマー100重量部当り少なくとも0.3重量部の濃度で存在することができるが、ピンホールを含むセルは1%未満である請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記発泡剤組成物が少なくとも1種の追加発泡剤を更に含む請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記の追加発泡剤がエタノール、プロパン、n−ブタン、イソブタン、シクロペンタン、n−ペンタン、イソペンタン、1,1,1,2−テトラフルオロエタン、1,1,1,3,3−ペンタフルオロプロパン及び1,1,1,3,3−ペンタフルオロブタンからなる群から選ばれる請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記ポリマーがポリスチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、ポリカーボネート及びポリエステルのポリマー並びにコポリマーからなる群から選ばれる請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記クレイがカオリナイト群の2層鉱物、スメクタイト群の3層鉱物及びそれらの塩からなる群から選ばれる請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記クレイが海泡石である請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記発泡性組成物が断熱剤を更に含む請求項12に記載の方法。
- 請求項1に記載の発泡体を含んでなる製品。
