Abstract
Description
本発明は、概して、血管内で使用するガイドワイヤに関する。より詳細には、本発明は、超弾性材料を利用した血管内で使用するガイドワイヤに関する。
血管内で用いられるガイドワイヤは、通常、様々な血管疾患の診断や治療のために、患者の血管系を介して進ませるのに使用される。従来、ガイドワイヤは、ステンレス鋼やニチノールからなる(超弾性)コアワイヤを利用していた。ステンレス鋼からなるコアワイヤは、成形可能であるという点では好都合であるが、蛇行する血管構造内で変形されることがあるという点が不都合であった。ニチノールからなるコアワイヤは、蛇行する血管内で変形しないという点では好都合であるが、成形不可能であるという点が不都合であった。
この必要性に対応するために、本発明は、複数の設計変更例を提供する。例えば、一実施例においては、本発明は、形状記憶ポリマー製カバーで包囲される超弾性コアワイヤを有するガイドワイヤを提供する。超弾性コアワイヤにより、ガイドワイヤは、塑性変形を起こすことなく蛇行する血管系を進むことができ、形状記憶ポリマー製カバーにより、ガイドワイヤを成形可能とすることができる。
以下の詳細な説明は、図面を参照して読まれるべきであり、それぞれの図面において、類似する要素には同じ番号が付されている。図面は必ずしも寸法比率が等しいものではなく、詳細な説明及び図面は、例示する実施例を表すためのものであり、本発明の範囲を限定するものではない。
Claims (35)
- 金属で構成される長尺状をなすコアワイヤと、
同コアワイヤの一部を包囲する形状記憶ポリマーで構成されるポリマー製カバーであって、同ポリマー製カバーは包囲するコアワイヤの一部よりも剛性が高いことと
からなる血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。 - 前記金属がステンレス鋼で構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記金属が超弾性金属で構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記超弾性金属がニッケルチタン合金で構成される請求項3に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリウレタンで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリノルボルネン、又は形状記憶ポリノルボルネンコポリマー、又は形状記憶ポリノルボルネンのブレンドで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリカプロラクトン又は(オリゴ)カプロラクトンコポリマーで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリメチルメタクリレートで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリ−L−乳酸コポリマーで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリ−L−乳酸−PGAコポリマーで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリ−L/D−乳酸コポリマーで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶PMMAコポリマーで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶架橋ポリエチレンで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶架橋ポリイソプレンで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶スチレン−ブタジエンコポリマーで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが光架橋性ポリマーで構成される請求項1に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 一部が形状記憶ポリマー製カバーで包囲される長尺状をなすコアワイヤを備えるガイドワイヤを準備する工程と、
ポリマー製カバーと同カバーが包囲するコアワイヤの一部を変形させる工程と、
変形されたポリマー製カバーに対して、形状記憶ポリマーのガラス転移温度以上となるように熱を加える工程と、
前記変形されたポリマー製カバーを形状記憶ポリマーのガラス転移温度よりも低い温度まで冷却して、形状を維持する工程と
からなるガイドワイヤの成形方法。 - 前記ガイドワイヤの成形方法がさらに、
ポリマー製カバーと同カバーが包囲するコアワイヤの一部とを先の形状とは異なる形状に変形させる工程と、
変形されたポリマー製カバーに対して、形状記憶ポリマーのガラス転移温度以上となるように熱を再度加える工程と、
変形されたポリマー製カバーを形状記憶ポリマーのガラス転移温度よりも低い温度まで冷却して、前記異なる形状を維持する工程と
からなる請求項17に記載のガイドワイヤの成形方法。 - 前記ガイドワイヤの成形方法がさらに、
前記ガイドワイヤが元の形状に復元するように、変形されたポリマー製カバーに対して、形状記憶ポリマーのガラス転移温度以上となるように熱を再度加える工程と、
前記変形されたポリマー製カバーを形状記憶ポリマーのガラス転移温度よりも低い温度まで冷却する工程と
からなる請求項18に記載のガイドワイヤの成形方法。 - 弾性限度を有する金属で構成される長尺状をなすコアワイヤと、
同コアワイヤの先端部を包囲するポリマー製カバーであって、同ポリマー製カバーが、弾性限度を有するポリマーで構成され、包囲するコアワイヤの先端部よりも剛性が高く、金属の弾性限度内、かつ、ポリマーの弾性限度を超えて前記先端部が変形されたときに、前記先端部がほぼその形状を保持することと
からなる血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。 - 前記金属がステンレス鋼で構成される請求項20に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記金属が超弾性金属で構成される請求項20に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記超弾性金属がニッケルチタン合金で構成される請求項22に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリウレタンで構成される請求項20に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリノルボルネン又は形状記憶ポリノルボルネンコポリマー又は形状記憶ポリノルボルネンのブレンドで構成される請求項20に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
- 前記形状記憶ポリマーが形状記憶ポリカプロラクトン又は(オリゴ)カプロラクトンコポリマーで構成される請求項20に記載の血管内で用いるガイドワイヤ。
