驚くべき発見はこの発明のベースとなる目的が水を溶融硼珪酸ガラスに添加することによって達成することができることであった。特に、好ましい水源は出発物質の結晶水である。本発明によれば、硼酸が酸化硼素の源として特に好ましく使用される。
溶融物中に水濃度を上げるための他の可能性が、例えばDE−A10043454公報に記載されている。前記公報によれば清澄時に解放される酸素を、水素又は蒸気でリンスされた白金パイプ上で、ガラス溶融物に溶融される水に移行することができる。
この発明による方法では、少なくとも30ミリモル/リットル溶融した水分子を含有する硼珪酸ガラスを提供することができる。それで、少なくとも一部の水がSiO2網状組織に化学的に結合され、反応性SiOH基が形成される。
本発明に係る方法で使用される硼珪酸ガラスは、好ましくはAs2O3、Sb2O3などの多価イオン特性を有する主第5属の毒性清澄酸化物を含有しない。
さらに、鉄を含有しない硼珪酸ガラスが、特に良好な透過性を有することが示された。これは、マイクロアレーやバイオチップなどのガラス基板を使用する多数の用途に必要である。
本発明により製造されたガラスは、酸及び灰汁、特にアルカリ灰汁に対する高い耐性を示す。そのガラスは長期安定性もあり、それによって長期貯蔵後に高い点密度容易に被覆可能となる。
本発明は、特にセンサやバイオチップ、汚れ防止ガラス、特にDuran(登録商標)のような窓ガラス、実験室ガラス、試薬ガラス及び電子ノーズ及び/又は人工ノーズなどのマイクロアレー、電子舌、ポリメラーゼ-連鎖反応用チップ、DNA−マイクロアレーチップ及び/又は遺伝子チップ、プロテインチップ、及びチップ上での「バイオ化学実験室」を製造するために、反応性物質の化学的共有結合用のこのタイプのガラスの用途にも関する。この特性のチップはまた、サンプル、特に蛍光、カラー又は放射性同位元素ラベル貼付のサンプルなどのラベル貼付サンプルの診断や分析に、及びガスや煙アラームにも使用される。本発明により被覆されたガラスは、圧力センサ、ロールオーバセンサ、及びスキッドセンサなどの自動車工業でのセンサでの使用にも適している。この発明を以下の実施例を簡潔に使用してより詳細に説明する。
適切な出発物質を一緒に溶かし、標準EN1748−1に適合する硼珪酸ガラスを溶融する。このガラスを溶融時に一般的塩で清澄した。このように溶融された硼珪酸ガラスを次にフロート装置に注入して平らなガラスを形成した。厚さが0.7mm、1.1mm、2mm、3mm及び5mmの薄いガラス基板をこのようにして製造した。適切な原料を選択することで、フロート硼珪酸ガラスは<150ppmの量のFe2O3を含有した。以下のガラスをこの方法で製造した。
Claims (13)
- 容易に改質できる表面を呈する、反応性SiOH基を有する硼珪酸ガラスの製造方法において、ガラス溶融物を製造し、ガラス1リットル当たり少なくとも30ミリモルの水の量で、該ガラス溶融物中で水を溶解することを特徴とする方法。
- 含水性出発物質により水を該溶融物に添加する請求項1に記載の方法。
- ガス状水を含有する雰囲気中で、前記ガラスの少なくとも表面を溶融する請求項1又は請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記ガス状水を含有する雰囲気を、純粋酸素で化石燃料を燃焼させることにより作る請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- フロートガラスを製造するために前記方法を使用する請求項1ないし請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラスは、70ないし87重量%のSiO2、7ないし15重量%のB2O3、0ないし8重量%のAl2O3、0ないし8重量%のNa2O、及び0ないし8重量%のK2O、及び必要なら0ないし8重量%の他の成分を含有する請求項1ないし請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 毒性清澄薬剤を含まない前記ガラスを製造する請求項1ないし請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラスはアルカリイオンを含有する請求項1ないし請求項7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラスは150ppm未満のFe2O3及び5ppm未満のCr3+を含有する請求項1ないし請求項8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラス表面の少なくとも一部を、SiOH基と物質中の反応基との化学反応によって少なくとも1つの物質で被覆する請求項1ないし請求項9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1ないし請求項10のいずれか1項により得られるガラス。
- 反応性物質の化学的共有結合用の基板として本発明により製造されたガラスの用途。
- センサやバイオチップ、窓用汚れ防止作用ガラス、試薬ガラス、実験室ガラス、マイクロアレー、電子ノーズ、人工ノーズチップ、電子舌、ポリメラーゼ-連鎖反応用チップ、DNA−マイクロアレーチップ、遺伝子チップ、プロテインチップ、及びチップ上での「バイオ化学実験室」の製造用の請求項12に記載の用途。
