Abstract
【解決手段】 リセット区間において,a)アドレス区間に選択されない前記第1電極に印加される電圧と大きさが同一な第1電圧を印加する段階;b)前記第1電極に,前記第1電圧から第2電圧まで上昇する波形を印加する段階;及びc)前記第1電極の電圧を第3電圧まで低下させる段階;を含む。

Description
まず,本発明の第1の実施の形態にかかるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法について図面を参照して詳細に説明する。
Y電極駆動部320及びX電極駆動部340は,制御部200から各々Y電極駆動信号(SY)とX電極駆動信号(SX)を受信し,X電極とY電極に印加する。
図8は,本発明の第2の実施の形態にかかる駆動波形を示したものである。
本発明の第1及び第2の実施の形態では,スイッチ(Yrr)に連結される電源として電圧(Vset)を供給する電源が用いられたが,これとは異なるように,維持電圧を印加する電源(Vs)を用いることもできる。
図11は,本発明の第4の実施の形態にかかる駆動波形を示したものである。
図12は,本発明の第5の実施の形態にかかるY電極駆動部320の詳細回路図である。

Claims (11)
- 第1電極及び第2電極,前記第1電極及び第2電極の間に形成されるパネルキャパシタを含むプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法において,
リセット区間において,
a)アドレス区間に選択されない前記第1電極に印加される電圧と大きさが同一な第1電圧を印加する段階;
b)前記第1電極に,前記第1電圧から第2電圧まで徐々に上昇する波形を印加する段階;及び
c)前記第1電極の電圧を第3電圧まで低下させる段階;を含む,
ことを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記第3電圧は,前記第1電圧と同一の値である,ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記第3電圧は,維持放電のために,前記第1電極に印加される維持電圧と大きさが同一の値である,ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記第2電圧は,前記維持電圧と前記第1電圧の合計より大きい,あるいは同一の値である,ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 複数の第1電極,複数の第2電極,前記第1及び第2電極によって形成されるパネルキャパシタに電圧を印加するプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置において,
第1電圧を供給する第1電源と前記第1電極との間に電気的に連結される第1トランジスタ;及び
第2電圧を充電しているキャパシタの両端に連結され,アドレス期間に,前記複数の第1電極に順に走査電圧を印加するように動作する複数の選択回路;を含み,
リセット区間において,前記選択回路を介して前記第1電極に前記第2電圧を印加し,前記第1トランジスタをターンオンして,前記選択回路を介して前記第1電極に,前記第2電圧より前記第1電圧ほど高い第3電圧まで徐々に上昇する波形を印加する,
ことを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。 - 前記第1電圧は,維持区間に維持放電のために,前記第1電極に印加される電圧より小さい,あるいは同一の値である,ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。
- 前記選択回路は,
第1端が第1電極に連結され,第2端が前記キャパシタの一端に連結される第2トランジスタ;及び
第1端が第1電極に連結され,第2端が前記キャパシタの他端に連結される第3トランジスタ;を含む,
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。 - 前記第1トランジスタがターンオンされる時に前記第2トランジスタをターンオンして,前記第1電極に,前記第2電圧より前記第1電圧ほど高い第3電圧まで
徐々に上昇する波形を印加する,ことを特徴とする請求項7に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。 - 前記第1電極に上昇する波形を印加した後に前記第1トランジスタをターンオフして,前記第1電極の電圧を前記第2電圧まで低下させる,ことを特徴とする請求項5又は8に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。
- 前記維持放電のために,前記第1電極に印加される第4電圧を供給する第2電源と前記第1電極との間に電気的に連結される第4トランジスタをさらに含む,ことを特徴とする請求項5又は8に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。
- 前記第1電極に上昇する波形を印加した後に前記第1及び第2トランジスタをターンオフし,前記第3及び第4トランジスタをターンオンして,前記第1電極の電圧を前記第4電圧まで低下させる,ことを特徴とする請求項10に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。
