Abstract
【解決手段】 メカニカルシール装置(M)は、一対の密封環(2,12)のうち外周面に係止部(2B)を有する第1密封環(2)と、第1密封環(2)の内周面(2C)を支持する第1支持部(3D)と、係止部(2B)と係止する第2支持部(3A)とが備えられていると共に、シールハウジング(60)又は軸(50)に固定する保持環(3)と、保持環(3)と第1密封環(2)とに密封に連結するガスケット(4)とを具備し、第2支持部(3A)と係止部(2B)との回転方向の組立の係止間隔(C)が0.5mm以内に形成されているものである。

Description
A.試験機
1)ボール盤式メカニカルシール単体鳴き試験機(市販試験機で、メカニカルシール装置を液槽内に取り付けてシール面から漏洩した液体を下槽に溜めて計測する構造である)
B.試験条件
1)密封環の回転数は、0から2000min−1 に速度を段階に上げ下げして テストをする。
2)被密封流体の液温は、40°Cと60°C と80°C と100°C の各段 階でテストをする。
3)被密封流体の液圧は、大気圧である。
4)被密封流体の液種は、LLC(ロングライフクーラント)50%水溶液
5)係止部2Bの溝幅Lは、5.5mmである。
6)第2支持部3Aの板幅Wは、4mmである。
7)係止間隔Cは、0.5mmである。
C.試験結果
1)本発明のメカニカルシール装置M
本発明の鳴き現象の発生率は、3%から10%(注、60°C付近で500min−1 以下で発生した)である。
2)比較例のメカニカルシール装置211
比較例の鳴き現象の発生率は、25%から35%である。
3)上述の結果から明らかなように、本発明のメカニカルシール装置は比較例に対して鳴き現象が極めて少ない。

Claims (5)
- ハウジングに設けた孔と、前記孔に挿設する軸との間をシールする一対の密封環を設けたメカニカルシール装置であって、
前記一対の密封環のうち外周面に係止部を有する第1密封環と、
前記第1密封環を支持する第1支持部を有すると共に、前記係止部と係合して回転方向に係止する第2支持部を有し、且つ前記ハウジング又は前記軸に保持される保持環と、
前記保持環の前記第1支持部と前記第1密封環との間に密着して第1支持部と前記第1密封環とを連結するゴム状弾性材性のガスケットとを具備し、
前記第2支持部と前記係止部との回転方向に対向する係止間隔が0.5mm以内に形成されていることを特徴とするメカニカルシール装置。 - 前記係止部が軸方向を成す係止溝に形成されていると共に、前記第2支持部が前記係止溝内に挿入される片持板に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のメカニカルシール装置。
- 前記第2支持部の締め代が前記係止部の底面に対して0から0.25mmの範囲で接合していることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載のメカニカルシール装置。
- 前記第1密封環の前記係止部と、前記保持環の前記第2支持部が周面に沿って複数個に係合していると共に、前記第2支持部と前記係止部の底面とが非接触に配置していることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載のメカニカルシール装置。
- 前記第2支持部は前記第1密封環を囲む外環に形成されていると共に、前記外環を軸方向へ切り込んで形成した片持板を前記係止部内へ折曲げた形状を成すことを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項3又は請求項4に記載のメカニカルシール装置。
