Abstract
【解決手段】 蛍光体(80)は、一般式AB3O6:Ce,Mnを有する材料を含み、式中、Aはセリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属である。該蛍光体(80)は光源(10)及びディスプレイに使用することができる。本発明の1つの態様によれば、蛍光体は、一般式AB3O6:Ce,Mnを有し、式中、Aはセリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属である。コロンの次の元素は蛍光体における活性化剤を示す。

Description
[実施例:Gd0.97Ce0.015Mn0.015B3O6蛍光体の製造]
最終的に要求される一般式が得られるように選択された量のGd2O3、MnCO3、及びCeO2をドライブレンドして混合物を形成した。次いで、この混合物を、窒素中に水素(1容量パーセント)を含む還元性雰囲気中で約6時間の合計時間にわたって1040℃で焼成した。焼成された材料をリブレンドし、次いで同じ条件で再焼成した。焼成後、得られた材料を約6マイクロメートルの平均粒径に粉砕した。蛍光体は、(Gd0.97Ce0.015Mn0.015)B3O6の組成を有し且つ緑色可視光を放出し、その発光スペクトルが図1に示される。
[白色発光デバイス]
本発明の緑色発光蛍光体(本明細書で上述された)、赤色発光蛍光体、及び青色発光蛍光体を含む蛍光体のブレンドを水銀放電デバイス中に組み込むことにより、従来技術のデバイスよりも高い効率を有する白色発光デバイスが提供され、これは、本発明の緑色発光蛍光体が、水銀放電によって放出されるUV放射をより効率的に吸収するためである。

Claims (10)
- 一般式AB3O6:Ce,Mnを有する材料を含む蛍光体であって、式中、Aがセリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属である蛍光体。
- Aが、ガドリニウム、スカンジウム、イットリウム、ランタン、サマリウム、テルビウム、ルテチウム、及びこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される請求項1に記載の蛍光体。
- Aが、ガドリニウムである請求項1に記載の蛍光体。
- セリウム及びマンガンの各々が、A、セリウム、及びマンガンの合計量の約0.01から約30モルパーセントの量で前記蛍光体内に存在する請求項1に記載の蛍光体。
- セリウム及びマンガンの各々が、A、セリウム、及びマンガンの合計量の約0.01から約10モルパーセントの量で前記蛍光体内に存在する請求項1に記載の蛍光体。
- (a)一般式AB3O6:Ce,Mnを有する蛍光体であって、式中、Aがセリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属である蛍光体と、(b)赤色発光蛍光体と、(c)青色発光蛍光体と、を含む蛍光体ブレンド。
- 蛍光体を作製する方法であって、
(a)(1)ホウ素;(2)セリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属;(3)セリウム;及び(4)マンガン;とからなる酸化物含有化合物を混合して混合物を形成する段階と、
(b)還元性雰囲気中で、前記混合物を前記蛍光体に転化するのに十分な時間にわたり約900℃〜約1300℃の範囲の温度で前記混合物を焼成する段階と、
を含む方法。 - 蛍光体を作製する方法であって、
(a)(1)ホウ素;(2)セリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属;(3)セリウム;及び(4)マンガン;の化合物を含む第1の溶液を準備する段階と、
(b)前記第1の溶液と、水酸化アンモニウム;セリウム、マンガン、及びセリウム以外の前記少なくとも1種の希土類金属からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の元素の水酸化物;有機エステル;有機ジカルボン酸;リン酸;及び有機アミンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の化合物を含む第2の溶液とを混合して沈殿物を生成する段階と、
(c)酸素含有雰囲気中で、前記沈殿物が前記セリウム、マンガン、及びセリウム以外の前記少なくとも1種の希土類金属を含む酸素含有材料に転化するのに十分な時間にわたって約700℃〜約1300℃の範囲の温度で前記沈殿物を加熱する段階と、
(d)還元性雰囲気中で、前記酸素含有材料が前記蛍光体に転化するのに十分な時間にわたって約900℃〜約1300℃の範囲の温度で前記酸素含有材料を焼成する段階と、
を含む方法。 - 蛍光体を作製する方法であって、
(a)(1)セリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属;(2)セリウム;及び(3)マンガン;の化合物を含む第1の溶液を準備する段階と、
(b)前記第1の溶液と、水酸化アンモニウム;セリウム、マンガン、及びセリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属の水酸化物;有機エステル;有機ジカルボン酸;リン酸;及び有機アミンからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の化合物を含む第2の溶液とを混合して沈殿物を生成する段階と、
(c)酸素含有雰囲気中で、前記沈殿物がセリウム以外の前記少なくとも1種の希土類金属、セリウム、及びマンガンを含む酸素含有材料に転化するのに十分な時間にわたって約700℃〜約1300℃の範囲の温度で前記沈殿物を加熱する段階と、
(d)前記酸素含有材料を少なくとも1種のホウ素の酸素含有化合物と混合して混合物を形成する段階と、
(e)還元性雰囲気中で、前記酸素含有材料が前記蛍光体に転化するのに十分な時間にわたって約900℃〜約1300℃の範囲の温度で前記混合物を焼成する段階と、
を含む方法。 - (a)密封ハウジング内に配置される放射線源(70)と、
(b)前記密封ハウジング(50)内部に配置され、前記放射線によって励起されて可視光を放出するよう適合された蛍光体(80)と、
を備え、
前記蛍光体(80)は、一般式AB3O6:Ce,Mnを有する材料を含み、式中、Aはセリウム以外の少なくとも1種の希土類金属であることを特徴とする光源(10)
