Abstract
【解決手段】グリップするための本体部分12と、複数の溝26とを有し、該溝はこれに隣接する歯部24を形成するように機械加工されており、各歯にはチゼルエッジが設けられ、切刃端部は半球型または平型またはドリル先端部状であり、端面方向から見たときに、切刃は、カッタ中心に近い位置であって、x軸線から距離Bだけ上方でかつy軸線から距離0.5Aだけ右方の位置から出発している。

Description
本発明の他の目的は、上記目的を達成することにより、ワークの表面仕上げを改善し、工具振動を低減させ、かつ工具寿命を延ばすことにある。
切削条件:材料−60〜62HRcに硬化された鋼D2、切削速度−150m/分、切削送り−0.08mm/歯、軸方向切込み深さ−0.3mm、半径方向切込み深さ−0.3mm、ドライカッティング
試験結果:工具寿命−材料200m、
表面仕上げ−8マイクロインチ〜12マイクロインチ
切刃に対するチゼルエッジ角は165°〜185°であり、従って、チゼルエッジと切刃とを整合させることができる。チゼルエッジ18の長さLは、チゼル幅の長さの3倍〜7倍の間にある。
A=互いに180°を隔てて配置された2つの歯の切刃間の全オフセット量=0.003D〜0.030D
B=0.3A〜1.5A
C=Bと同じく0.3A〜1.5Aであるが、Bとは異ならせることもできる。
角度α=5°〜45°
D=16mmの硬質鋼用エンドミルについては、一般的な値は次の通りである。
A=0.2mm
B=0.1mm
C=0.25mm
α=35°
簡潔性および明瞭性の観点から、2つの溝のみを有する例を示したが、4個、6個、8個または10個の溝をもつより大きい工具にも同じ幾何学的形状を適用できる。

Claims (3)
- 改善されたチップ除去が行えるように構成された直径Dのボールノーズ・エンドミル、平エンドミルまたはドリル等の工具において、工作機械がグリップするための本体部分と、複数の溝とを有し、該溝はこれに隣接する歯部を形成するように機械加工されており、各歯にはチゼルエッジが設けられ、切刃端部は半球型または平型またはドリル先端部状であり、端面方向から見たときに、切刃は、カッタ中心に近い位置であって、x軸線から位置Bだけ上方でかつy軸線から距離0.5Aだけ右方の位置から出発し、y軸線に対して角度αで、長さCだけ延びており、互いに180°隔てて配置された2つの歯の切刃間の全オフセット量であるAの値は、種々の材料を機械加工する場合には0.003D〜0.030Dであり、BおよびCは両方とも0.3A〜1.5Aの長さを有しており、角度αは5°〜45°の値を有することを特徴とする工具。
- 位置Bから出発する前記切刃は半径Rで湾曲しており、該半径Rの中心は、工具端部の上方の歯で見たときにその右側に位置しており、Rの値は0.5A〜5Aであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 添付図面を参照して説明したものと実質的に同じであることを特徴とする、改善されたチップ除去が行えるように構成されたボールノーズ・エンドミル、平エンドミルまたはドリル。
