【課題】溶着部を有する2個以上の熱可塑性樹脂成形体
粗材の前記溶着部を加熱軟化させたのち前記熱可塑性樹
脂成形体粗材同士を押圧して溶着させる熱可塑性樹脂成
形体粗材の溶着方法において、2個以上の成形品粗材を
適確かつ強固に溶着することが可能な成形品粗材の溶着
方法を提供する。 【解決手段】通電発熱体5・6を溶着部7・8に接近ま
たは当接させて溶着部7・8を好適状態に加熱したのち
2個以上の前記溶着部7・8同士を当接させ、これらの
溶着部7・8が固着するまで押圧状態を維持することを
特徴とする。

Description
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、熱可塑性樹脂成形
体粗材の溶着方法に係り、より詳しくは、ABS、PM
MA、PS等の熱可塑性樹脂で成形された2個以上の成
形体粗材(以下、成形品粗材と略称する)同士を溶着し
て、例えば、自動車のランプ、インテークマニホール
ド、バッテリ等の熱可塑性樹脂成形体の完成品を製造す
る方法に関する。
体粗材の溶着方法に係り、より詳しくは、ABS、PM
MA、PS等の熱可塑性樹脂で成形された2個以上の成
形体粗材(以下、成形品粗材と略称する)同士を溶着し
て、例えば、自動車のランプ、インテークマニホール
ド、バッテリ等の熱可塑性樹脂成形体の完成品を製造す
る方法に関する。

【従来技術と課題】従来、2個以上の成形体粗材同士を
貼り合せて1個の完成品を製造する方法の一つとして、
前記成形体粗材の溶着部に昇温された発熱体を近接また
は当接させてその溶着部を加熱軟化させた後、これら2
個以上の成形体粗材を合わせて押圧し溶着するようにし
たものがある。しかし、このように構成された従来の成
形体粗材の溶着方法では、溶着した部分が全体的或いは
部分的に比較的早期に剥離するなどの問題があった。
貼り合せて1個の完成品を製造する方法の一つとして、
前記成形体粗材の溶着部に昇温された発熱体を近接また
は当接させてその溶着部を加熱軟化させた後、これら2
個以上の成形体粗材を合わせて押圧し溶着するようにし
たものがある。しかし、このように構成された従来の成
形体粗材の溶着方法では、溶着した部分が全体的或いは
部分的に比較的早期に剥離するなどの問題があった。
【0003】本発明は、上記の事情に鑑みて成されたも
ので、その目的は、2個以上の成形体粗材同士を適確か
つ強固に溶着することが可能な成形体粗材の溶着方法を
提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】上記の目的を達成するた
め、本発明における熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法
は、溶着部を有する2個以上の熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材
の前記溶着部を加熱軟化させたのち前記熱可塑性樹脂成
形体粗材同士を押圧して溶着させる熱可塑性樹脂成形体
粗材の溶着方法において、通電発熱体を前記溶着部に接
近または当接させて前記溶着部を好適状態に加熱したの
ち2個以上の前記溶着部同士を当接させ、これらの溶着
部が固着するまで押圧状態を維持することを特徴とす
る。

【発明の実施の形態】なお、本発明における通電発熱体
は、ニッケル・クロム合金や鉄・クロム合金などを材料
して製造されている。またなお、本発明における溶着部
の加熱が好適状態であるか否かの判定は、加熱された溶
着部を所要大きさの圧力で押圧した時にその溶着部が所
要量沈降するか否かによって行なう。すなわち、加熱さ
れた溶着部をこれと同じ温度に加熱された断熱性の押し
板部材により、圧力0.1kg/cm2で成形体粗材同
士の溶着方向へ押圧した場合、その溶着部の沈降量が、
0.1mm以上になるときをいう。

状態になっていても、溶着部が発熱体による急激な加熱
で熱分解を起こす場合には、好適状態に至ったとは言え
ないので、発熱体の温度を下げたり、発熱体と溶着部と
の間隔を広げて急激な加熱にならないようにする。

【実施例1】以下、本発明の第1実施例について図1に
基づき詳細に説明する。図1に示すように、上受型1に
よって保持されたアクリル樹脂製の上成形体粗材2と、
下受型3によって保持されたABS樹脂製の下成形体粗
材4とを、上成形体粗材2の溶着部7および下成形体粗
材4の溶着部8をそれぞれ対向させかつ所要の間隔をお
いて配置し、続いて、上成形体粗材2と下成形体粗材4
との間に、支持部材3によって支持されかつ温度450℃
および温度350℃にそれぞれ発熱された2個の上・下通電
発熱体5・6を進入させる。なお、前記溶着部7は幅2.
2mm、高さ3mmのリブ構造体であり、また、前記溶
着部8も幅1.5mm、高さ5mmのリブ構造体である。
次いで、上成形体粗材2を下降させるとともに下成形体
粗材4を上昇させて、2個の上・下成形体粗材2・4
を、溶着部7・8がそれぞれ上・下通電発熱体5・6か
ら1mm離れた位置に移動させ、さらにその状態を所要
時間維持する。これにより、溶着部7・8を上・下通電
発熱体5・6によってそれぞれ好適状態に加熱して軟化
させる。
基づき詳細に説明する。図1に示すように、上受型1に
よって保持されたアクリル樹脂製の上成形体粗材2と、
下受型3によって保持されたABS樹脂製の下成形体粗
材4とを、上成形体粗材2の溶着部7および下成形体粗
材4の溶着部8をそれぞれ対向させかつ所要の間隔をお
いて配置し、続いて、上成形体粗材2と下成形体粗材4
との間に、支持部材3によって支持されかつ温度450℃
および温度350℃にそれぞれ発熱された2個の上・下通電
発熱体5・6を進入させる。なお、前記溶着部7は幅2.
2mm、高さ3mmのリブ構造体であり、また、前記溶
着部8も幅1.5mm、高さ5mmのリブ構造体である。
次いで、上成形体粗材2を下降させるとともに下成形体
粗材4を上昇させて、2個の上・下成形体粗材2・4
を、溶着部7・8がそれぞれ上・下通電発熱体5・6か
ら1mm離れた位置に移動させ、さらにその状態を所要
時間維持する。これにより、溶着部7・8を上・下通電
発熱体5・6によってそれぞれ好適状態に加熱して軟化
させる。
【0008】こうして、上・下成形体粗材2・4の加熱
完了後、上成形体粗材2を上昇させるとともに下成形体
粗材4を下降させ、続いて、上・下通電発熱体5・6を
上・下成形体粗材2・4間位置から後退させる。その
後、再び上成形体粗材2を下降させるとともに下成形体
粗材4を上昇させて、加熱軟化した溶着部7・8を互い
に当接させ、溶着部7・8が冷却されるまで上・下成形
体粗材2・4を押圧する。これにより、2個の上・下成
形体粗材2・4は溶着部7・8にて強固に溶着されるこ
ととなる。
完了後、上成形体粗材2を上昇させるとともに下成形体
粗材4を下降させ、続いて、上・下通電発熱体5・6を
上・下成形体粗材2・4間位置から後退させる。その
後、再び上成形体粗材2を下降させるとともに下成形体
粗材4を上昇させて、加熱軟化した溶着部7・8を互い
に当接させ、溶着部7・8が冷却されるまで上・下成形
体粗材2・4を押圧する。これにより、2個の上・下成
形体粗材2・4は溶着部7・8にて強固に溶着されるこ
ととなる。

【実施例2】第1実施例における上・下成形体粗材2・
4の材質をPP樹脂に、また溶着部7・8の寸法を、溶
着部7は幅3mm、高さ5mmに、溶着部8は幅2mm
、高さ150mmにそれぞれ変え、さらに、上成形体粗材
2と下成形体粗材4の加熱開始時刻を変えて、第1実施
例と同様の溶着を行なったところ、同様に強固に溶着さ
れた完成品が得られた。この場合、上・下通電発熱体5
・6の温度を450℃に、溶着部7・8と上・下通電発
熱体5・6とのそれぞれの間隔を1.5mmにして、溶着
部7を30秒間、溶着部8を20秒間それぞれ加熱した。こ
の加熱は同時に完了した。
4の材質をPP樹脂に、また溶着部7・8の寸法を、溶
着部7は幅3mm、高さ5mmに、溶着部8は幅2mm
、高さ150mmにそれぞれ変え、さらに、上成形体粗材
2と下成形体粗材4の加熱開始時刻を変えて、第1実施
例と同様の溶着を行なったところ、同様に強固に溶着さ
れた完成品が得られた。この場合、上・下通電発熱体5
・6の温度を450℃に、溶着部7・8と上・下通電発
熱体5・6とのそれぞれの間隔を1.5mmにして、溶着
部7を30秒間、溶着部8を20秒間それぞれ加熱した。こ
の加熱は同時に完了した。
【0010】なお、第1実施例において、材質および溶
着部の寸法をそのままとし、溶着部7・8と上・下通電
発熱体5・6との間隔もそのままとし、下通電発熱体6
の温度だけを上通電発熱体5と同じ450℃にして第1実施
例と同様にして溶着を行なった。その結果、ABS樹脂
製の肉厚の薄い下成形体粗材4の溶着部8は、過度に加
熱され自重に負けて変形し、部分的にしか溶着されず、
極めて信頼性の劣る溶着であった。
着部の寸法をそのままとし、溶着部7・8と上・下通電
発熱体5・6との間隔もそのままとし、下通電発熱体6
の温度だけを上通電発熱体5と同じ450℃にして第1実施
例と同様にして溶着を行なった。その結果、ABS樹脂
製の肉厚の薄い下成形体粗材4の溶着部8は、過度に加
熱され自重に負けて変形し、部分的にしか溶着されず、
極めて信頼性の劣る溶着であった。

【発明の効果】以上の説明から明らかなように本発明
は、溶着部を有する2個以上の熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材
の前記溶着部を加熱軟化させたのち前記熱可塑性樹脂成
形体粗材同士を押圧して溶着させる熱可塑性樹脂成形体
粗材の溶着方法において、通電発熱体を前記溶着部に接
近または当接させて前記溶着部を好適状態に加熱したの
ち2個以上の前記溶着部同士を当接させ、これらの溶着
部が固着するまで押圧状態を維持するから、2個以上の
成形品粗材を適確かつ強固に溶着することが可能になる
などの優れた実用的効果を奏する。

Claims (6)
- 【請求項1】 溶着部を有する2個以上の熱可塑性樹脂成
形体粗材の前記溶着部を加熱軟化させたのち前記熱可塑
性樹脂成形体粗材同士を押圧して溶着させる熱可塑性樹
脂成形体粗材の溶着方法において、通電発熱体を前記溶
着部に接近または当接させて前記溶着部を好適状態に加
熱したのち2個以上の前記溶着部同士を当接させ、これ
らの溶着部が固着するまで押圧状態を維持することを特
徴とする熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法。 - 【請求項2】溶着部を有する2個以上の熱可塑性樹脂成
形体粗材における前記溶着部を加熱軟化させたのち前記
熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材同士を押圧して溶着させる熱可
塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法において、2個以上の熱
可塑性樹脂成形体粗材を溶着部を相互に対向させかつ所
要の間隔をおいて配置させる工程と、これら2個以上の
熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の間に、これら2個以上の熱可
塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着部をそれぞれ加熱する2個以
上の通電発熱体を進入させる工程と、前記2個以上の熱
可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着部を前記2個以上の通電発
熱体にそれぞれ近接または当接させるとともにその状態
を所要時間維持して前記溶着部を好適状態に加熱する工
程と、溶着部を好適状態に加熱された2個以上の熱可塑
性樹脂成形体粗材間から前記2個の発熱体を後退させる
工程と、前記2個以上の熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材を互い
に当接させるとともに溶着部が固着されるまで熱可塑性
樹脂成形体粗材同士を押圧する工程と、を有することを
特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法。 - 【請求項3】請求項1または2に記載の熱可塑性樹脂成
形体粗材の溶着方法において、前記2個以上の溶着部を
好適状態に加熱する工程はほぼ同時に完了することを特
徴とする熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法。 - 【請求項4】 請求項1〜3のうちいずれか1項に記載
の熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法において、前記溶
着部の加熱が好適状態であるか否かの判定は、加熱され
た前記溶着部を所要大きさの圧力で押圧した時にその溶
着部が所要量沈降するか否かによって行なうことを特徴
とする熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法。 - 【請求項5】 請求項1〜4のうちいずれか1項に記載
の熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法において、前記溶
着部を好適状態に加熱すべく要素は、少なくとも、前記
溶着部と前記発熱体との間隔、前記発熱体の温度および
加熱時間であることを特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗
材の溶着方法。 - 【請求項6】 請求項1または2に記載の熱可塑性樹脂
成形体粗材の溶着方法において、前記通電発熱体は、発
熱量の制御可能な複数の通電発熱体によって構成したこ
とを特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂成形体粗材の溶着方法。
