【請求項１】 マルチサイクル・エンジン・ブレーキングを実行する装置において、
正出力のエンジン作動中においてエンジン・シリンダの少なくとも１個の排気弁を作動させる排気弁作動手段と、
エンジン・シリンダの少なくとも１個の吸気弁を作動させる吸気弁作動手段と、
エンジン・ブレーキング作動中にエンジン・シリンダの前記少なくとも１個の排気弁を作動させるブレーキング手段と、を含む装置であり、ブレーキング手段は、エンジン・ブレーキング作動中のエンジン・サイクルごとに前記少なくとも１個の排気弁に少なくとも２回のブレーキング作動を達成させ、吸気弁作動手段は、エンジン・ブレーキング作動中に前記少なくとも一つの吸気弁の作動を遅らせる、マルチサイクル・エンジン・ブレーキングを実行する装置。
【請求項２】 正出力のエンジン作動中に少なくとも１個の排気弁を作動させる前記手段が排気ロッカーアームを含むことを特徴とする請求項１に記載の装置。
【請求項３】 前記排気弁作動手段は、前記少なくとも１個の排気弁を作動させるために、前記少なくとも１個の排気弁と係合する排気弁係合手段を含むことを特徴とする請求項２に記載の装置。
【請求項４】 前記排気弁係合手段が少なくとも１個の排気弁のクロスヘッドピンと解放可能に係合することを特徴とする請求項３に記載の装置。
【請求項５】 前記排気弁係合手段が隙間調整組み立て体を有することを特徴とする請求項３に記載の装置。
【請求項６】 前記隙間調整組み立て体が油圧作動であることを特徴とする請求項５に記載の装置。
【請求項７】 少なくとも１個の排気弁を作動させる前記手段がエンジン・ブレーキング作動の間少なくとも１個の排気弁を解放することを特徴とする請求項１に記載の装置。
【請求項８】 少なくとも１個の吸気弁を作動させる前記手段が正出力のエンジン作動の間少なくとも１個の吸気弁を作動させることを特徴とする請求項１に記載の装置。
【請求項９】 前記吸気弁作動手段が吸気ロッカーアームを含むことを特徴とする請求項１に記載の装置。
【請求項１０】 前記吸気弁作動手段が正出力のエンジン作動の間前記少なくとも１個の吸気弁を作動させるために前記少なくとも１個の吸気弁と係合する吸気弁係合手段を含むことを特徴とする請求項８に記載の装置。
【請求項１１】 前記吸気弁係合手段が前記少なくとも１個の吸気弁のクロスヘッドピンと解放可能に係合することを特徴とする請求項１０に記載の装置。
【請求項１２】 前記吸気弁係合手段が隙間調整組み立て体を有することを特徴とする請求項１０に記載の装置。
【請求項１３】 前記隙間調整組み立て体が油圧作動されることを特徴とする請求項１２に記載の装置。
【請求項１４】 前記隙間調整組み立て体が、前記少なくとも１個の吸気弁が遅れるようにエンジン・ブレーキング作動の間ブレーキング位置まで後退することを特徴とする請求項１２に記載の装置。
【請求項１５】 エンジン・ブレーキング作動の間エンジンのシリンダの前記少なくとも１個の排気弁を作動させる前記手段がブレーキ・ロッカーアームを含むことを特徴とする請求項１に記載の装置。
【請求項１６】 前記ブレーキ・ロッカーアームが前記少なくとも２回のエンジン・ブレーキング作動の間前記少なくとも１個の排気弁のクロスへッドピンと係合することを特徴とする請求項１５に記載の装置。
【請求項１７】 前記ブレーキ・ロッカーアームが正出力パワーのエンジン作動の間クロスヘッドピンを解放することを特徴とする請求項１６に記載の装置。
【請求項１８】 前記ブレーキング手段が排気ガスの再循環を達成する手段を含むことを特徴とする請求項１に記載の装置。
【請求項１９】 マルチサイクル・エンジン・ブレーキングを実行する方法において、
第１の圧縮解放を実行する段階であり、第１の圧縮解放を実行する段階は、少なくとも１個の排気弁を開けてエンジン・ブレーキングを作動させる段階と所定時間の後に前記少なくとも１個の排気弁を閉じる段階とを含み、前記第１の圧縮解放を実行する段階中に前記少なくとも１個の排気弁を開けてエンジン・ブレーキングを作動させる段階は、圧縮上死点の前に開始される段階と、
第２の圧縮解放を実行する段階であり、第２の圧縮解放を実行する段階は、少なくとも１個の排気弁を開けてエンジン・ブレーキングを作動させる段階と所定時間の後に前記少なくとも１個の排気弁を閉じる段階とを含み、前記第２の圧縮解放を実行する段階中に前記少なくとも１個の排気弁を開けてエンジン・ブレーキングを作動させる段階は、排気上死点の前に開始される段階と、
エンジンブレーキング中に、所定の時間の間、少なくとも１個の吸気弁を開くことを遅らせる段階と、
を含むことを特徴とするマルチサイクル・ブレーキングを実行する方法。
【請求項２０】 前記第１の圧縮解放の終結時に排気ガス再循環を実行する段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項１９に記載の方法。
【請求項２１】 少なくとも１個の吸気弁を開く前記段階が排気の上死点後に発生することを特徴とする請求項１９に記載の方法。
