【発明の詳細な説明】 硬化調整用フィルタ 発明の分野 本発明は、感光性接着剤を用いて2枚の薄いディスク形の層を接合するディス ク形光学記録媒体の製造に関するものである。特に、本発明は、接合作業中の媒 体の反りの防止に関するものである。 発明の背景 コンパクトディスクは、デジタルまたはアナログ情報、例えば音声および映像 の両方またはいずれか一方の情報の記録担体であり、平坦なディスク形プラスチ ック表面の形をして、その上に情報に従った変調されたデータの光学構造が設け られている。データは、表面のらせん通路に配置された様々な長さのピット(p it)として形成されている。ピットは、ナノメータ単位の寸法であり、対応の 隆起領域を有する型への射出成形によって形成される。コンパクトディスクに記 憶された情報は、一般的にプレーヤと呼ばれる読取り装置によって再生され、こ の装置は,コンパクトディスクを回転させ、コンパクトディスクが回転している 時にレーザー装置をらせん軌道に沿って案内する。レーザーの下のピットの検出 は、レーザーの直下の表面から戻る輝度の変化として行われる。このようにして ピットの長さが検出され、データとして解読される。 コンパクトディスク用に新しく開発されたデータ方式は、射出成形中にピット およびランドを形成した非常に薄いデータ層を利用している。これらのピットの 寸法は250nm程度であり、データ層およびそれの金属被覆膜の厚さは0.6 mm程度である。この厚さは、読取り中にディスクが傾斜した、すなわち平面状 態から逸脱した場合の読取りレーザービームのコマ(coma)効果を低減させ るのに好都合である。しかし、ディスクに十分な剛直性を与えるために、それを 厚くする必要がある。データ保存表面に別のディスク表面を接着することによっ て、厚さの追加が行われる。しかし、接着作業は、ディスクのデータ記録層の傾 斜(すなわち、平面状態からの逸脱)を招く。本発明は、光硬化性接着剤で接合 された薄いディスク状層からなるコンパクトディスクの製造におけるそのような 傾斜の低減に関するものである。 一定の高密度光学ディスクの製造の際には、少なくとも一方にデータを記録し た2つのディスク表面が感光性接着剤を用いて接合される。2層のディスク間に 置かれた接着剤を熱および紫外線の両方かまたはいずれか一方によって硬化させ る。この硬化処理中に、2つのディスク層を一時的に非対称的に歪ませる熱が発 生する。例えば、ディスクの内径部はディスクの外径部と異なった膨張を行う( 一般的に、垂直変位量が大きい)。この「非対称」状態中に硬化が行われると、 複合ディスクは重大な歪みを生じる。 発明の簡単な説明 本発明の目的は、2つのディスク層の接着処理の際の硬化外形を調整用フィル タによって調整することである。このフィルタは、ディスクの外径部の垂直変位 量がディスクの内径部とほぼ同じになるまで、外径部の硬化を遅らせる機能を有 する。 図面の簡単な説明 図1は、ディスクの上下表面の膨張の違いのために傾斜したコンパクトディス クの半分の断面図である。 図2において、図2Aは、硬化が調整された場合のディスクの内径部および外 径部の変位量を時間の関数として示すグラフである。同じく、図2Bは、硬化が 非調整の場合のディスクの内径部および外径部の変位量を時間の関数として示す グラフである。 図3は、本発明の硬化調整用フィルタの平面図である。 図4は、従来技術のコンパクトディスクの表面の変位量の時間系列を示してい る。 図5は、本発明のコンパクトディスクの表面の変位量の時間系列を示している 。 好適な実施例の詳細な説明 本発明の方法は、コンパクトディスクの大量生産用の生産ライン工程に適用で きる。コンパクトディスクの製造において、最初に、好ましくは射出成形によっ てデータ保存表面が形成され、その後、データ表面を金属被覆層で被覆すること によってデータ表面の反射性を向上させる。それから、紫外線で硬化する接着剤 をディスクに塗布して、ロボット制御によりアセンブリラインに並べ、支持ディ スクと組合わせる。第1図に示されるように、接着剤の硬化が進むと、基板3の 上に形成された、その読取り表面5を通過した光で解読されるデータを含む記録 層1が傾斜する。 基準面9からの反射被膜7のずれをディスク傾斜角αと呼ぶ。角αを最小に抑 えることが本発明の目的である。 図2は、硬化調整用フィルタを使用しない「通常」の場合と、硬化調整用フィ ルタを用いた場合とを比較して、ディスクの内径部および外径部の平面状態から の一般的な変位量を概略的に示している。硬化調整用フィルタによって、内径部 および外径部の両方の変位量が等しくなり、それによって平面的な最終製品が得 られることがわかるであろう。 図3は、硬化調整用フィルタにおける紫外線吸収材の半径方向密度を示してい る。なお、この調整材料は、紫外線吸収材のみでなく、紫外線反射材でもよく、 いずれも紫外線硬化性接着剤に達する紫外線の強度を低下させるものである。 図4は、通常の硬化の場合の問題のある結果を示している。ここでは、接着剤 を介在した2つの層表面を水晶板の上に載せて、上下の両方から紫外線および赤 外線を照射する。図示のように、表面は平坦な表面として処理が開始される。表 面が暖まると、硬化が生じて接着剤が固化し始めるので、上側ディスクが反る。 最後に、硬化が完了すると、熱で反ったディスクは反った欠陥状態で永久的に接 着される。 図5は、本発明の方法を示している。やはり、両ディスクの表面が平坦で、接 着剤層がその間に介在された状態で処理が始まる。ディスクが暖まり始めると、 硬化がディスクの中心で選択的に始まり、接着剤が部分的に固化し始めるので、 上側デイスクが反り始める。しかし、硬化調整用フィルタにより、ディスクの外 径部が硬化する前に、上側ディスクが完全に暖まる結果、接合する両ディスクは 平坦なままである。 すなわち、接着剤の硬化を行うために紫外線を当てる前に、密度が異なり、外 径部ほど密度が高くなるディスク形フィルタを紫外線源とコンパクトディスクの 間に配置するものである。これは、ディスク形フィルタをディスク上に載置する ことによって行うことができる。ディスク形フィルタは、入射する硬化用光線の 吸収または反射のいずれを行うものでもよい。この結果、ディスクの硬化率に示 差勾配が生じ、これによって側方移動でディスク表面の温度および膨張の違いを 調整できる。その結果、コンパクトディスクの平面性が高くなるので、コンパク トディスクからデータを読取る際の誤り率が低くなる。 以上に本発明の基本的な特徴をその好適な実施例に適用して説明してきたが、 当該技術の専門家であれば、本発明の精神から逸脱しないで、図示の装置の形状 および詳細、およびそれの作用に様々な省略、代用および変更を加えることがで きることは理解されるであろう。従って、本発明は添付の請求の範囲の記載のみ によって制限されるものとする。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 少なくとも一方に光学データを記録するピットおよびランドを設けた2つ のディスク表面を接着して形成されるコンパクトディスクの製造方法であって、 第1ディスク表面および第2ディスク表面を形成する段階と、 前記表面の一方に放射線硬化性接着剤を塗布して、前記第2表面を前記第1表 面に整合状態で接触させる段階と、 前記接触した第1および第2ディスクと硬化用放射線源の間に硬化調整用フィ ルタを介在させる段階と、 前記第1および第2ディスクに前記放射線源から硬化用放射線を照射する段階 とからなり、 前記硬化調整用フィルタは、硬化用放射線を減衰するために、前記硬化用放射 線を吸収する材料を半径方向に変化する密度で有しており、 前記接着剤の硬化後にも、前記第1および第2ディスクが平坦であることを特 徴とするコンパクトディスクの製造方法。 2. 前記硬化用放射線が紫外線スペクトルに含まれるところの請求項1記載の 製造方法。 3. 前記硬化用放射線を吸収する材料の半径方向に変化する密度が、硬化調整 用フィルタの外径部で高くなるようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の製造 方法。 4. 前記硬化調整用フィルタが、形成されるコンパクトディスクとほぼ同じ半 径のディスク形をしており、前記硬化調整用フィルタを介在させる段階が、硬化 調整用フィルタを前記第1または第2ディスクに整合状態で接触させる段階を含 むところの請求項1記載の製造方法。 5. 前記第1および第2ディスクに硬化用放射線を照射する段階が、各ディス クの表面が平坦のままであることができるように硬化中に2つのディスク表面を 相対移動させることができる強度の放射線を用いることを特徴とする請求項1記 載の製造方法。 6. 前記2つのディスク表面が硬化段階の前に平坦でない場合に、前記第1お よび第2ディスクに硬化用放射線を照射する段階が、第1および第2ディスクの 表面が平坦になることができるように硬化中に2つのディスク表面を相対移動さ せることができる強度の放射線を用いるようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1記 載の製造方法。
