Abstract

Una pompa a vortice atta all'uso nella alimentazione di aria secondaria di un convertitore catalitico per un veicolo. Almeno parte di un motore per azionare la pompa è esposta al flusso di aria di aspirazione per raffreddare il motore in modo da ottenere efficacia e durata. In particolare quando il motore è un motore è a spazzole, le spazzole vengono raffreddate. Sono previsti mezzi di sigillatura in un interstizio tra una girante ed una carcassa di pompa per ridurre la quantità di perdita di aria da una parte ad alta pressione ad una parte a bassa pressione, impedendo così che venga ridotto il rendimento della pompa. Un silenziatore ad assorbimento o a risonanza vicino all'apertura di aspirazione o nel condotto di aspirazione impedisce al rumore, che viene generato dalla pompa, di venire irradiato all'esterno di esso.
