Abstract
1282206 Refractory brick OSTERREICHISCH-AMERIKANISCHE MAGNESIT AG 1 April 1970 [3 April 1969] 15515/70 Heading C1J Chromite of particle size 0 to 6 mm. and such that 20 to 80% is below 0À12 mm. is mixed with finer magnesite of below 0À20 mm. and containing, based on the fired condition, less than 95% MgO and the mixture sintered at at least 1750 C. the sintered material, containing 5-40% CrO 3 , at most 2À5% silica and at most 4% lime and having a lime : silica ratio between 0À6 and 2À5, is granulated and shaped into brick. The unsintered mixture of chromite and magnesite is briquetted with kieserite solution and sintered. The granulated sinter can be mixed with up to 35% of sintered magnesia and shaped into brick using a binder of sulphite waste liquor or of a mixture of boric acid, sulphite waste liquor and magnesium sulphate solution.
