Abstract

998,061. Yarn traversing mechanism. MONSANTO CO. Nov. 13, 1962 [Nov. 29,1961], No. 42896/62. Heading D1J. A yarn traversing device comprises two endless belts 18 each rotating in the same direction and arranged relatively to each other as shown. As the belts rotate, fingers 19 thereon co-operate with each other to establish a zig-zag arrangement of the yarn 2 before depositing it on the bobbin 6. To prevent ribboning the finger 19 may be unequally spaced. The package 6 is driven by a drive roll 7 and the belts 18 are interconnected by a flexible joint 15. The yarn 2 is spun from a spinneret 3 and is wound around two sets of draw rolls 4 and separator rolls 5 before being delivered to the traverse device.
