988,826. Syringes. LOVENS KEMISKE FABRIK PRODUKTIONSAKTIESELSKAB. May 30, 1963 [June 1, 1962; April 4, 1963], No. 21752/63. Heading A5R. A syringe ampoule comprises a pharmaceutical container 1 made of a plastic (e.g. polycarbonate, polystyrene, polymethylmethacrylate, cellulose ester or polyamide) and the open end of which container is sealed with a piston 2 which carries a tubular connecting piece or adapter 3 adapted for the mounting of a needle, and a protective plastic (e.g. polypropylene) cap 4 mounted over the connecting piece 3 and container 1. The connecting piece 3 may be provided with cap 6. The container 1 and cap 4 may have flanges 8 and 19 respectively. The inlet to the bore of the piston may be closed by a wall in which flaps acting as valve ports, are formed by one or more incisions in the wall. The flaps only allow material to pass from the container 1 through piston 2 and connecting piece 3 when the piston 2 is pressed down in the container 1.
