672,393. Hypodermic syringes. ABBOTT LABORATORIES. March 16, 1950 [March 18, 1949], No. 6663/50. Class 81 (ii). A disposable, medicament syringe comprising a tubular container 10 with a needle 16 sealed in a closed end 12 and a piston 22 at the other end is characterised in having the sealed end integral with the container and formed with an external tapered dross which may be engaged by a needle cover 28 the outside diameter of which is such that it can be inserted in the container above the piston 22 to expel the medicament. At the open end, the container is provided with laterally extending arms 18 to serve as a finger hold. The syringe may be made of transparent synthetic resin material and the inner end of the needle cover may accommodate a plug 26 to seal the needle during storage.
