Abstract

1,273,574. Hypodermic syringes. NOSCO PLASTICS Inc. 1 Aug., 1969 [1 Aug., 1968], No. 38691/69. Heading ASR. A hypodermic syringe comprises a cylindrical vial 4, having its open end sealed by a resilient moveable stopper 5 with a projection 20, and a needle hub 6 with a socket 1, at one end and a holding means 2 at the other and moulded around a double pointed needle 8 one end of which projects beyond the socket, the vial being telescopically slideable over the needle hub 6 for causing the needle to pierce a web 23 of the stopper 5, and cause discharge of medicament. The socket 1 and projection 20 have screw threads. A holder 2, a plastics cylinder, has a hub 13 which is secured to the hub 6, and a flange 26 to facilitate holding, whilst allowing the vial to completely telescope over the hub 6. Several needle hubs 6, are moulded in a 'tree' to facilitate assembly within holders 2 held on a fixture which spaces them similarly to the needle hubs in the moulded 'tree'.
