Abstract

985,818. Edge filters for liquids. V. P. M. BALLU. June 15, 1961 [June 28, 1960], No. 21706/61. Heading BID. A filter unit comprises a stack of washers 31 freely slidable on a support 30 and having bosses 32 on one face, the support having a length between end stops 35, 40 greater than that of the stack. When the unit is inserted in a filter body 23, the washer stack is held against a shoulder 38 by a resilient plug 36, the stop 35 acting as one part of a bayonet connection. Pumped liquid enters at 28 and leaves via a port controlled by a valve 8 and leading to distributer or return ports 5. A by-pass valve 9 is provided. The valves 8, 9 are actuated by a cam 10 turned by a hand lever 14. Specification 982,294 is referred to.
