Abstract
982,974. Ventilators. MINISTER OF DEFENCE, STATE OF ISRAEL. Aug. 16, 1963 [Aug. 22, 1962], No. 32523/63. Heading F4V. A ventilating louvre of the type operated by the pressure of through flowing air comprises a number of parallel slats 4 pivoted about axes 7a which are displaced from the position occupied by the slats when closed, the longitudinal edges of the slats seating against angleirons 9 in the closed position. As illustrated the slats are linked by a rod 6 and are opened by an air stream 16 against gravity. Sealing strips 12 are provided on the edges of the slats and the angle irons are attached to the louvre frame 10. A stop-member 13 limits movement of the rod and thus the degree of opening of the louvre. The position of the stop 13 is automatically controlled by a motor 15 in accordance with air flow requirements. The louvre may be arranged horizontally and gravity biased towards the closed position, Fig. 2 (not shown), or arranged horizontally and gravity biased towards the open position, this being over-ridden by a spring bias towards the closed position, Fig. 3 (not shown).
