Abstract

A damper fitted in a ducted system, consists of a solid rectangular shutter (5) which slides in vertical guides (4). The damper frame surround leaves an opening (3) in the duct. The damper is able to take up three positions. The first position when the damper is raised leaves a small opening for the air to flow through the system. In the second position the damper is closed. In the third position with the shutter at the bottom the opening has its maximum area. Spring loaded bolts which may be remotely operated allow the opening of the ventilator. The handle (6) is to return the shutter to its original position.
