Abstract

1322480 Ventilators CREATORS Ltd 26 June 1970 11545/73 Divided out of 1320695 Heading F4V An air outlet device for a ventilator, e.g. in a motor vehicle comprises a housing 65, a turnable louvre assembly 66 having parallel louvres 77 for directing the air in a desired vertical direction, a plurality of vanes 91 at right angles to louvres 77 and turnable to direct the air in a desired horizontal direction, the vanes 91 having pivots 92 engaged in slots 93 in louvres 77 and being hingedly connected to a control member 90 arranged to slide in a groove 94 provided by the louvres. The louvre assembly is mounted in the housing by bearings 84 and its angle can be adjusted manually. The flow of air is controlled by a valve 67 rotatable behind the louvre assembly between a position in which it clears the opening at the rear of the louvre assembly and a pc sition where it closes the opening. The valve is manually controlled by wheel 85 exposed through opening 87 in the louvre assembly. In ar other form (Fig. 5, not shown) the valve has a separate housing behind the housing for the louvre assembly. The valve is a pivoted flap and carries a toothed segment meshing with a toothed control wheel coaxial with the louvre assembly. Alternatively a lever may replace the toothed wheel. The components are moulded in a plastics material. Specification 1320695 is referred to.
