941,037. Ventilating motor vehicles. HUMBER Ltd., A. C. MILLER, W. S. TAYLOR, K. M. DAVIES, and B. J. COCKELL. Feb. 4, 1960 [Feb. 13, 1959], No. 5130/59. Heading F4V. Air enters a vehicle through a duct 11 incorporating a fan 14 and a heater, cooler and humidifier and through controlled inlets 12, 16 and is withdrawn through an opening adjacent the rear window of the vehicle. In Fig. 1 an outlet 17 is provided in the shelf 18 behind the rear seat and is connected to an opening 20 at a low pressure point, the opening being controlled by an automatic non- return flap valve. In the embodiment of Fig. 4 the outlet is disposed above the rear window of the vehicle, the air passing through slots 34 to slots 30. The slots 34 are controlled by a non- return flap valve 36. A transverse cover 37 is rockable over the slots between an open and a closed position.
