Abstract
An aqueous electroplating bath contains a copper complex of ethylene-diamine N-hydroxyethyl-N:N1 triacetic acid, or an alkali metal or ammonium salt thereof, and wheat gluten, egg albumin, caesin or methionine. The bath should be alkaline and preferably has a pH of 8-12. The bath is operated at a temperature of 0-95 DEG C. (preferably 60-80 DEG C.) and at a current density of 5-16 amps./sq.ft. Brightening agents, such as sodium sulphite, sodium dithinate, hydroxylamine sulphate or sulphamic acid, may be included in the bath. Specification 832,062 is referred to.
