Abstract

756,788. Electrodeposition of tin. FAULKNER, C. J. Feb. 23, 1955 [May 27, 1954], No. 15729/54. Class 41. To improve the performance of aqueous tin plating baths comprising tin, sulphuric acid and a phenolic sulphonic acid, there is added diphenylolpropane and/or dicresylolpropane. Typically the bath contains per litre 20 to 40 grams tin (as stannous sulphate), 50 to 100 grams sulphuric acid, 30 to 80 grams of phenol- or cresol-sulphonic acids, and 0.1 to 1.0 gram of the addition agent.
