Abstract

808,958. Electrodeposition of rhodium. MOND NICKEL CO. Ltd. April 30, 1957 [May 10, 1956], No. 14604/56. Class 41. To prevent or reduce cracking of rhodium electrodeposited from aqueous baths containing one or more of rhodium sulphate, phosphate and fluoborate, there is added to the bath selenic acid or an alkali metal selenate. Preferably at least 0.05 g./l. of selenic acid is added to the bath but the addition should not exceed 25 g./l. and is typically 0.4 to 1 g./l. Sulphuric acid may be added to the baths which may be operated at 20-75‹ C.
