Abstract
835,830. Electrodepositing rhodium. SELREX CORPORATION. Dec. 12, 1957 [Jan. 10, 1957], No. 38673/57. Class 41. Low internal-stress rhodium is electroplated on to a basis metal, e.g. brass, from an aqueous bath consisting of per litre 20 to 100 mls. of concentrated sulphuric acid; at least 2 gms., typically 5 gms., of rhodium added as rhodium sulphate; and 10 to 100 gms. of magnesium sulphate at a temperature of 20 to 50 ‹ C. and a cathode current density of 4 to 20 amps./sq. ft. The deposit is slightly grey but smooth.
