Abstract

930,957. Silver-plating baths. SCHERING A.G. May 4, 1962 [May 19, 1961], No. 17295/62. Class 41. Silver-plating baths contain as a levelling and brightening agent a condensation product of naphthalene sulphonic acid and formaldehyde in the form of a soluble salt. In examples, AgCN solution containing also free cyanide, and potassium carbonate as a conductor salt contains 0.02 to 0.5 g. per litre of the K or Na salt of the condensation product. There may also be present selenium compounds, e.g. K 2 Se, KCNSe.
