Abstract

Bright silver is plated from a bath containing alkali silver cyanide, a soluble antinomy compound, e.g. tartar emetic, and a soluble salt of methylene bis-naphthalene sulphonic acid. In examples, potassium silver cyanide baths are preferred, and the antimony may be added in the form of the oxide chloride, or a complex, e.g. with E.D.T.A., or as the nitrilo-acetate.
