Abstract
A silver plating bath includes a soluble thiocyanate and is free of cyanide ions. The silver salt may be sulphamate, fluoborate, nitrate, acetate, or chloride, the latter being soluble in a high concentration of KCNS which ranges 10 to 500 g.p.l. Small amounts of a film-forming polyvinyl compound may be added; also of Bi, Sb, and Pb salts and potassium antimony tactrate. The bath is prefarably acid pH 4.5 to 7.
