Abstract
A hard silver-antimony plate is formed using as electrolyte a silver salt solution to which is added a complex of antimony made by mixing an alkanolamine with an inorganic antimony compound. In examples, a bath containing 30 to 35g potassium silver cyanide per litre, fue Na CN, and Na2 Co3 has added to it 0.5 to 1g of a product mode by heating at 40 DEG C. a mixture of 1 mol. Sb Cl3 and 3 to 6 mols. of triethanolamine, methyldiethanolamine, diethanolpropanolamine or like compound. A small amount of alkali metal selenocyanate is added to improve the lustre.
