Abstract

974,203. Food containers. REXALL DRUG & CHEMICAL CO. Jan. 24, 1963 [Feb. 8, 1962], No. 3117/63. Heading A2D. [Also in Division B8] An air-tight container comprises an opentopped vessel 10 having integral handles 12, 13 and a reinforcing flange 14 strengthened by gusset plates, and a resilient cover 17 having a U-section rim to tightly engage the outwardly flared (10 degrees to 12 degrees) upper edges of vessel 10. A tab 21 enables the cover to be removed and the rim is at angles of 7 degrees to 13 degrees to the rest of the cover. The base 11 of the vessel is recessed and the contents are carried on a tray 22 having flexible handles 26, 27, upstanding ridges and legs 28. The container and tray are of a plastics material, for example the cover may be of regular polyethylene and the tray and vessel 10 of linear polyethylene. Specification 662,219 is referred to.
