Abstract

1,047,634. Vessels for food. REJLERS INGENJORSBYRA A.B. July 8, 1963, No. 26945/63. Heading A4A. [Also in Division B8] Disposable sealed containers for use as despatch carriers in pneumatic tube systems comprise an elongated container body portion with a destructable cover and having an attached annular flange or disc for airtight engagement in the conveyer tube. In one example a cylindrical section container 5 (Fig. 1) or a pair of semi-cylindrical section containers 6 are closed by a circular lid 1 and have flanged seals 2, 3 or 4 attached at either end. In a modification a container 8 Fig. 2 in the form of a rectangular dish has a flat lid 7 at the top and an annular seal 2 attached to the lid or container at one end. In further modification, both the container 9a, Fig. 4 (not shown), and lid 9b are of rectangular dish form and may be divided into separate compartments sealed by separate lids. The parts may be separate of formed from one sheet folded along a longitudinal edge. The containers may be made of thermoplastic materials, cardboard, plastic coated paper waterproof paper, and are sealed by cementing, welding, staples, adhesive tape. The containers may be opened by cutting, tearing or burning at the edge flanges.
