Abstract

935,964. Milk cans. FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER CO. July 26, 1961 [April 3, 1961], No. 27048/61. Class 66. A support 38 for the bottom of a container e.g. a milk can comprises a skirt 40 with spaced slots 48 below which are peripherally recessed sections 42, 44, 46, each having an undercut portion 54 with shoulders 56 to engage over the shoulder 16 on the cover 12 of another container so that, in this way, several containers may be safely stacked. A strengthening band 58 is spot welded to and conforms with the interior surface of the skirt as shown. The skirt may be integral with or made separately from the container, and may be of a different material.
