970,066. Cartons. JAGENBERG-WERKE A.G. Aug. 31, 1961 [Oct. 20, 1960], No. 31359/61. Heading B8P. A liquid-tight carton formed by folding one or more blanks to tubular form, joining the edges by adhesive &c., and closing the ends by opposed W-folds 11, has one or more of the walls, e.g. the wall 2, inclined inwardly from the edge 5 relatively to the plane defined by the adjacent container edges 5, 6 so as to form an upstanding fin seam 9 at the edge 6. In modifications fin seams are formed also at the fold edges. The fin seams and W-folds are formed by heat and pressure, the fin seam avoiding bunching up of the material in the W-fold. The construction facilitates stacking of the cartons since no seam extends outside the cross-section of the container.
