An inner cutting blade 20 for an electric dry shaver comprises a cutting region 30 of flexible perforated sheet metal for pressurized engagement with a fixed outer blade 35 and a resilient sheet metal portion integral with and of the same thickness as the cutting portion and secured to a drivable two-part base portion 24, 25 of insulating material, such as moulded nylon, which is connected to the free end 26 of a pivotal armature 18, the resilient portion flexing so that the cutting portion vibrates in a straight path, defined by the fixed blade, while the path of the drivable base is arcuate. The resilient portion may have slots 33, aiding flexibility and inclined at an acute angle to the direction of blade travel. The blade is rolled to cylindrical form, the base part 24 being attached to the armature by plates 28 and having spaced projections 34 which pass through superposed apertures 32 in the blade and are received in apertures in the base part 25. In a modification, the blade is permanently bent to arcuate shape and a one-piece base member of moulded nylon or die-cast metal has a neck engaged between the ends of the blade, bosses projecting laterally from the neck being received in notches in the ends of the blade to maintain proper relationship.
