An alloy suitable for low pressure or gravity die-casting consists of: .Mg.3.0-3.25% .Ti.0.15-0.25% .Be or B.0.002-0.006% .Al.the balance The following impurities may be present: Cu up to 0.05%, Si up to 0.1%, Fe up to 0.3%, Mn up to 0.02%, Ni up to 0.02%, Zn up to 0.05%, Pb up to 0.02%, Sn up to 0.02%. Casting made from the alloy may be anodized to a silver finish.
