Abstract

964,110. Valves. CORNING GLASS WORKS. July 20, 1961 [July 27, 1960], No. 26390/61. Heading F2V. A screw-down angled valve comprises a plug 14 made of an elastic corrosion-resistant plastics material and fixed to a spindle 15 which screws into an axially fixed actuating spindle 31 rotatable in a member 30 screwed to a cover member 16, 17. The cover member 17, 17 is held by a clamping ring 21 and clamps the upper end of a conical sealing bellows 25 the lower end of which is fixed to the plug 14. Internally of the bellows 25 is a spiral spring 26 which prevents deformation of the bellows.
