Abstract

962,384. Cartons. ATLAS GENERAL INDUSTRIES Inc. April 1, 1963 [July 26, 1962], No. 12760/63. Heading B8P. A tray-like carton, preferably made from a single blank and particularly intended for protecting - and displaying articles such as collapsible tubes, has inner end walls 40, 41 which converge inwardly of the carton by being spaced from outer end walls 16, 17 by extensions 50, 51 and inner side walls 28, 29 which converge inwardly of the carton by being supported by the inner end walls 40, 41 along converging pairs of lateral edges 32, 33 and 34, 35. The extensions 50, 51 which are integral with inner bottom walls 44, 45 are bent out of inner end walls 40, 41 to provide article receiving apertures therein. The inner side walls 28, 29 are locked in position by tongues 36, 37 and 38, 39 respectively which engage the apertures. An article is placed in the carton with its ends received by the apertures and is clamped by the aperture edges 48, 49 and is cushioned by the inner side walls 28, 29.
