Abstract

1,237,216. Holders for rimmed articles. F. D. LAWRENCE. 11 Oct.; 1968 [13 Oct., 1967], No. 46861/67. Heading B8C. A holder of the kind which is snapped on the rimmed end R of an article C, such as a can, comprises an end member 6 for disposing adjacent to one end of the article, outer side walls 5, 7 for disposing at opposite sides of the article and provided with rim-holding means 27a for holding the rim R, tie members 4, 8 connected to the walls 5, 7 and inwardly directed therefrom and directed towards the end member 6 and having openings 28 for receiving the body portion of the article which is adjacent the rim, and strut members 3, 9 connected to the tie members and disposed beside the end member, the inner side walls being extensions of the material of the strut members. The blank, Fig. 1, from which the holder is made of cardboard or other sheet material and the holder may be separable into a number of parts by providing lines of weakening parallel to the sides edges 19, 20 of the blank.
