Abstract
960,793. Air supply for combustion. A. E. THOMAS. Jan. 8, 1963, No. 806/63. Heading F4W. Air supply apparatus for a domestic fire grate comprises a chamber housing a fan and motor C for supplying air from outside the room to the grate above the hearth at one or both ends thereof either through a ducting B communicating with the cavity in a cavity wall or from below the floor, a pivoted closure member D controlling the supply of air from the chamber. In Fig. 1 the chamber is formed by the ducting B which is attached to the skirting board by spring-loaded screws, Fig. 3 (not shown). The pivoted closure member D has a side plate with an arcuate slot engaging a fixed pin to permit adjustment, Fig. 5 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 6, the fan and motor C are located in a chamber below the floor level and air is forced through a cowl D<SP>1</SP> containing a pivoted closure member D.
