An installation device for a gas appliance comprises a flat box-like casing 4 having an inlet 5 for combustion products from the gas appliance, an outlet 6 and a fan 7 for feeding combustion products from the inlet 5 to the outlet 6. The casing 4 may have a wooden top 11 and side walls, and may contain thermostatic and other controls for the gas appliance. A by-pass inlet in the casing may provide air to dilute the combustion products, and the gases may be directed in a sinuous path within the casing, which can be surrounded by an air heating casing through which air is drawn by a second fan, Fig. 5 (not shown), or by convection.
